Lidl is a supermarket selling a wide selection of groceries and frozen, chilled and tinned food. They also sell a range of cosmetics. This branch has a car parking facility.

Useful Tips from AIL Users

Steak is a great buy, but go for the Aberdeen Angus.

I ve been shopping in that particular store for over 20 years. I can say that quality and range of stock has worsened considerably during the time. Lots of German stock was replaced with lesser quality UK products, more expensive. Staff also differs from time to time even during shifts. Lately longer working employees were replaced by young, inefficient and rude individuals. There is a problem speaking to managers. Some are plainly stupid. So called offers are always changing or not available or prices are rigged to make fake discounts. Lately they decided to redecorate during working hours. No information was available on the website. Their Lidl plus is useless as well, offering insignificant discounts, or allegedly not working. Store is badly lit and dirty.

Good experience inside the shop staff were helpful good selection of produce also, it's pretty unfair on them the 1 star.

Although I over stayed the parking duration by 23 seconds!!! And the parking company Parkingeye sent me a ticket for £90!!!!

This is daylight robbery they say you can parking for 90mins but photograph your car driving on to the premises and off the premises so technically I wasn't parked longer than 90 mins. Surely it takes you longer than 23 seconds to park and exit the parking bay safely????

Receiving this charge ruined the whole customer experience as you can imagine I'm very disappointed, I am yet to receive a reply via the appeal process its a shame as I was a paying loyal customer :(

For value it can't be beaten and the quality of produce is high. Very busy shop, but staff calm, friendly and efficient. I don't use the car park so can't comment on that, but overall brilliant

For those who are being charge £90 for their parking... to park in Lidl carpark for free, you should purchase something from the store, and then you must validate your parking by using the machine at the right hand end of the tills (next to the self-service). This will ask you to enter your car registration and stop you from getting a fine. You can park there for up to 11/2 hours if you do this, and you should have free parking!

Hope this helps.

I when to Lidl first time in Lidl last Weds night and spend £13.79 there in less than 1/2 hour. However, 2 days later I received a Parking Charge Notice of £90 !!

It was dark and I did not see the notice on the wall which I only found out from google map today. When I have received the parking charge notice that it mentioned that it was free when "shoppers entering reg at the terminal are allowed 01:30".

This really put the first time shopper off !!

Lidl should have a gate and ticket system rather than a camera system that let people go in and out freely and catch them up by sending them a £90 parking charge ticket.

Peter

The parking had a limit of 10 mins. I parked here for 20 mins, of which over 10 mins was waiting in a queue. Now I have a £90 fine. :(

The only people that can get their goods and be out of there in10 mins or less on a Saturday are shop lifters. i suppose someone has to support them while legitimate customers are fined at an extortionate level.

DO NOT GO TO THIS LIDL - INSTEAD GO TO THE ASDAS FURTHER UP. There is a camera trap which monitors motorists on a budget for parking, of which exceeded will dispatch a penalty charge parking ticket for it's apparent "free parking". You have been warned!
