My Review
10 out of 10 stars
I had been looking for these sort of places since my first day in London, that's a teashop where I could have also drunk my favourite blend, sipping and enjoying it till the last delightful drop. Finally, after having wandered around in Soho, my dream came true when my family and I walked into Camellia Sinensis, nestled on the second floor in Kingly Court, just off Carnaby street. I was absolutely flabbergasted by the wide range of loose teas they offer, not only do they sell the most amazing black, green and white teas, but also they use different herbs to prepare health teas. I was kindly invited by the staff to open some glass jars, where these herbal teas are kept, and choose the infusion I was going to share with my parents. Even my dad -who doesn't like drinking coffee nor tea at all!- enjoyed his cup of 'Happy tummy', an extraordinary and tasty mix of specific herbs purposely blended to tame the naughtiest of the indigestions! My mum and I were both impressed by the beauty of the little glass cups (we found out they have been specially designed and are hand made) we were served the tea with. Last but not least the orange and almond cake -because we needed to calm any types of cramps!- that we had at Camellia tearoom was heavenly.
Highly recommended to anybody who loves real and pure tea, and wants to relax in a cozy ambience away from the busy and noisy streets in central London. This has been a fantastic discovery and I'll definitely visit Camellia again on my next trip to the capital. Of course I'm going to try their renowned scones next time!
Now I'm going to... have a nice cup of Jasmine tea, thinking of those flavors and fabulous scents I've been able to experience in this pretty tea house.
