What moaners - I've been going there for a year and a half and it's fine. It's in great condition now and I'm saying this after having been to a few other gyms in my time. It's a good crowd - friendly staff and personal trainers, not too many poseurs, not too many complete muscle heads, not as many snobs as in the virigin active one down the road. Chnanhging rooms much cleaner than some other LA fitness gyms I've been to.
One gripe though - why move the drinking fountain into the changing rooms - probably trying to make people but bottled water - but not very successfully. Also - hate when I see other people put their bottles around the nozzle - so unhygenic - how about some signs saying please don't do this ! (like I've seen in other places).

After closing the club without much notice the refurb has taken place. Result OK but the first thing they did is try to increase the membership fee. So after putting up with all the nonsense correctly described above (and more) they rearrange a few machines get the showers into shape and put a few more lockers in - call it a major refurb and immediately hike the fees.... a rip off!!!

Just to let you know that LA Fitness is undergoing (November 2009) a £300,000 refurbishment. This should help with the terrible conditions described above - which incidentally are described correctly. I am waiting to see what the gym will look like after the work has been carried out. We will see...

dirty showers, pool sometimes too cold, pool sometimes with wrong chemicals,
sauna ok, steam room broken, whirlpool on and off and cold water,
all in all bad state,
broken weight scales in ladies changing room
open sockets, dangerous,
in very bad condition
I complained 3 trimes at the reception but only got very arrongant responses
not the standard you expect in the 21st century, and we pay for this????
