I came to Genesis today who are now taken up by new owners and I had the most loveliest experience. I went there to get a Balayage after having it done previously by another salon who didnt do a great job, but from the minute I entered the store I spoke to one of the stylists called Marie and she was very easy to speak to, polite and approachable in terms of explaining what I needed having done. She then saw me the following day to do the Balayage and honestly I cannot say how pleased and happy I am that she did my hair! She was so friendly and did my hair the exact colours I wanted, such a lovely girl and would always book with her again. Thank you Marie, the salon should be so lucky to have your talent xx

In 2011 I went into Genesis Hair Design on the off-chance that they would have a stylist that was competent in dealing with all hair types. I have curly hair. Previously I had been to hairdressers from Portobello to Camden and just couldn't find a stylist to create something stylish, funky and modern and at the same time leave my hair in its natural form. 2017, I am still going to Genesis Hair Design to get my hair done. The atmosphere created by management's wise choice in staff makes for a fantastic girls' day out of pampering, with the end result a fab new look and a smile. Alyce is a master colourist - no hair type can evade her skills. Sam, (if you can get an appointment ) - yep, she is that good and does everything - be prepared to go on a waiting list! Bev - the Yoda of the salon, creates classy hair designs for every occasion. Celsa - even if it's not your real hair, Celsa will make sure that nobody knows. Manager is always really rude; styling is good but I'm put off from going there due to how rude the manager has been on several occasions with her line of questioning and patronising attitude. I'm put off ever going there again.

I've been in London for nearly 2yrs now and all the Afro salons I've been to,have been disappointment after disappointment..service, attitude & unprofessionalism. A friend recommended Genesis and THAT'S IT FOR ME!! The professionalism, attitude & service is top class & worth every penny.

I have been a client of Genisis since 2008. Every time I go, the service is great and the staff are always friendly and professional. I would gladly recommend them to friends and colleagues.

1st time i went here, stylists refused to do my hair the way i wanted and claimed she did not have time to put them in rollers which is all I wanted and I had to settle for tonging. since my hair is really short. this took less than 15mins and i was charged £25 for a style that did not last till morning. Same thing happened the 2nd time. I was charged £40 just to have it trimmed a little. While it looked nice that day, I think the salon is way over priced and staff are not particularly nice. Dont go close to closing hours as you'd get the worst service ever.

Absolutely terrible. Very rude and stuck up! Would never ever go here again, such an uncomfortable atmosphere. Was spoken to rudely and was over charged by miles!

All I wanted was to have my hair washed and was very disappointed by the level if service. This was my 3rd visit, the first visit I had my hair washed and blow dry and u was happy with the outcome my hair was light and bouncy.Today OMG !! to start with the girl who washed my made no effort to wash my hair and I'm not sure about the conditioner used my hair felt heavy.the blow dry technique that was used was worse that what i could have done at home. They tried to overcharge me and when I challenged it. There was a begrudging apology which was humiliating I won't be returning.

Hairdressers is great, nice atmosphere and they don't even mind if I am so relaxed that I knod off lol
Reasonably priced for most things, I am a returning customer after visiting lots of hairdressers across London this one suits me and always fits me in! (I am a spur of the moment client too)...friendly, genuine and can do :-)

i went there today to get extensions weaved into my hair.
Fantastic staff, with a wide range of knowledge.
Very pleased with the service and would recommend to anyone.
Staff polite with a very welcoming atmosphere.

I am really disappointed with the Genesis. The quality of hairdressers' work is really poor and unprofessional.
I went there as I have recently moved from the other part of London and at first glance, it looks like a high-level studio, but don't be fooled...
The reason why I have used their service is to do the highlights, as my roots grew longer. Originally, I am a brunette, but I am a blonde since 2005. I have asked the hairdresser called Magda to make me highlights in two colours - lighter and darker blond. She claimed that it is impossible for my hair (even though I had it done before, in some other salon), but she politely told me that she can make two other colours of highlight for me - brown and blond. I agreed.
After she had done my roots to blond she claimed that she won't put the brown colour on my hair as it would look horrid with the blond I already have and they are closing soon so...
She washed my head and another surprise - they are out of toner for my hair. It is not a big deal, but still, a salon that charged me £70 for bleaching my roots and calling it full-head highlights!

As a more recent review, I was so bitterly disappointed, upset and shocked with the service I received at Genesis that I had to write something. The hair stylist point blank told me she would not do my hair as she didn't want to be in the salon passed closing time and apparently my hair would have taken too long and seemingly too much effort for her to do. As if that wasn't enough, this was followed by rude mutterings under her breath and complaints about the fact that I apparently had "too much hair on my head", more complaining about the fact my hair was "too long" and apparently not silky smooth enough for her upon my entrance or as she put it "too tangled." After practically begging her to at least do something as I had left work early for the appointment and had an event the next day, (all I wanted was a wash, condition and style), she was unwilling to help or assist. Subsequently I was forced to take my services to my usual salon (which is quite a distance) but where they understand good customer service and where I was treated with the basic common respect and eagerness to help that is deserved. My hair did not seem too much of a challenge for them. So much for going above and beyond. I would never recommend this place, or at least that particular stylist.

i have already recommended others to genesis before and they enjoyed the pamper as much... i have been disappointed once but i knew that i would go there again cos mistakes happen do happen. my hair looks fantastic. just been there today and i look amazing just the right style for my face, expensive but really worth it. Fantasic customer service and hey just got a valentine hot wrap free voucher how good is that.will be seing them soonxxx

Staff at Genesis are all very polite, helpful and professional. I have been to many salons and this is one of the few places I'd feel totally happy to recommend friends and family. Service is excellent without any lengthy waiting times.
