OK I don't normally write reviews because quite frankly I don't have the time, however, when somebody or somewhere pleases me to the degree that this new salon did, I just had to write a review.

I had a ball last weekend and made a booking at GlamBlow for a blowdry and it was wonderful. I requested the Va voom look and that's exactly what I got. I felt so glamorous and the blowdry lasted 4 days and I am not exaggarating! I decided to go back as I needed my colour done and this is the part that amazed me. I was having regular highlights done for the past decade (or should I say decades!!)

I'm so very happy with William Thomas Hair Salon. I just got back from getting my hair cut with Thomas, and not only does he have a wonderful personality but his cutting skills are fantastic! I've already made my next appointment for colour. Everyone was wonderful in the salon and I felt very looked after.

I thought it important to balance the previous review because I was influenced by it enough to try this hairdresser and got a very different experience. My hairstylist at William Thomas seemed nice but .. it was almost funny how bad it was. She slapped on colour, leaving lasting dye marks all over my face, under my chin (?!) and neck. I was then subjected to the most rough if invigorating scrub for a hair wash (like you'd was a dog). Then she skewered my scalp painfully with what felt like a metallic, sharp comb and burnt my scalp painfully with hot air from the hairdryer - I never complain but this really hurt.

All of this I could live with, except the hair cut. She quickly and casually snipped away at my hair, alarmingly, leaving it with a brutish cut and uneven - although she did even some of it when I asked her to. My fringe now doesn't sit right, which she agreed and shrugged her shoulders. Never will I go back there, and I'd certainly warn others that they might experience the same disaster I have. At least hair grows out, but...

I went for the chop!! There are very few places I would have let talk me into something like that, but William Thomas in Richmond is one. And I am so glad I did. I had a very nice stylist called Rebecca (Australian).

She instantly made recommendations and didn't as some salons do, ask me what I wanted done. For once I met a true professional in the hairdressing world that actually demonstrated her knowledge and skill. Her attitude was fab too. Once we agreed on the restyle, which made me a little nervous I might add, she handed me off to another Rebecca to have my hair washed. Wow, wow, wow.....quite frankly I didn't want that experience to stop. She took me to a beautifully quiet, candle lit wash area (I think they call it a hair spa!), where my entire body was massaged whilst she washed my hair....awesome!!

I was SO pleased with this salon, I cannot recommend them highly enough. The pricing is good too and you can be assured that you are getting skilled staff.
