Ruby Blue may be a bit more expensive but it's worth the money to get a really good haircut that lasts. Nice, friendly staff too.

Absolutely unfriendly, cocky, arrogant. They treated me with such disrespect, so I was hoping at least the styling would be good. But no, I actually had to fly back to my old hairdresser in another country, to fix the damage.

I really like visiting here, it's airy, spacious and relaxing. The guy who cut my hair was really good at interpreting what I asked for and offering a twist on it I hadn't considered and loved. I am looking forward to going back a third time in a couple of weeks.

The only reason I didn't give 10 stars is that I've found making an appointment difficult due to misunderstanding the receptionist, and her me.

I have been going to ruby blues for years. I have moved out of the area, but still continue
to have my hair cut here. You do pay a little more , but you really do pay for quality. The staff are wonderful and friendly. As Also written in another review, the staff always remember from my name, coversations we had years ago and how I like and dislike my hair to be done. From the second you walked in, you are treated with a nice Warm welcome and really looked after from start to finish. They are again very honest in regards to the style of your cut. These people really know what they are doing !!!! Every time I have left the shop, not only my hair has looked fabulous, but I feel fabulous to. I not only look forward to getting my hair done, but also visiting ruby blues as well. Also the owner is a lovley guy, it's always nice to see him when I have my hair cut. If u want to get a good hair cut, this is the place to go , you will never want to go any where else !!!!

I had to write a review after seeing some of the negative ones. I have been going to Ruby Blue for 6 years and although I only visit once a quarter they always remember my name, how I like my hair done and the fact I like to quietly read a magazine rather than chat. I have had my hair cut by many there and all but once have walked out feeling brilliant. The one time I was unhappy I called them the next day and my usual guy came in on his day off to sort it free of charge and gave me free products - basically they could not have been nicer.
It is also the only hairdresser I've been to where they will give honest feedback on a style you think you want. That is invaluable as a 'fashionable' style is no good if it does not suit you. This is sadly lacking in many other hairdressers and means the cut always suits me rather than last month's catwalks!
I would recommend this place 100% and would say to those who have left a negative review - do try Ruby Blue again.

I've had my haircut at Ruby Blue for over 5 years now. In fact I still go there even though I moved away from Stoke Newington a year ago.

The hairdresser who cuts my hair does such an amzing job. She knows my head so well, I don't even have to ask what I want, as she knows what will suit me. I always leave the salon feeling like a new man :)

I will happily keep going there for the time being.

I came across this review and had to comment. I used to go to Ruby Blue and had a great hairdresser there, I have since moved from the area, but I also experienced the guy the other reviewer mentioned. He completely ruined my, what is normally a very enjoyable experience. He continually shouted at the junior, shouting out orders across the salon, humiliating the girl. It was highly unprofessional and made me, as a client feel very uncomfortable. A shame as it has a nice interior and my hairdresser was very good, polite and professional, the complete opposite of this guy!

I moved from South London to the area a few months ago. Obviously, finding a new hairdresser is always a bit daunting, and after trailing a couple of others, I found Ruby Blue. The staff were incredibly friendly and listened to what I wanted and gave really good suggestions. They didn't try to hard-sell conditioning treatments and products. The overall experience was great. I now have a great local hairdresser who I won't be leaving any time soon

After my father died I decided to treat myself and get my hair cut in Ruby Blue. I was happy to pay a bit more than I usually would for a bit of pampering.

Big mistake. The guy who cut my hair, (guess he was the owner?)obviously had a leak in his flat and was on and off the phone to a plumber during the whole appointment. He apologised the first time he took a call but after that he didnt bother and kept answering his phone and walking off to speak. I have long hair so have to stand to have my hair cut. I felt like a complete idiot just stood in the middle of the salon. Because of this he got so behind time he started to cut someone else's hair while mine was being dried by someone else. After about 20 mins I had to ask the girl to stop drying my hair as I was afraid she was going to damage it. It was well past dry. On reflection I wish I had said something and walked out but I was so upset at the time I thought I would cry so studidly I put up with it and paid for the awful experience with a cocky, self absorbed, rude, unprofessional hairdresser.
