My Review
1 out of 10 stars
I never write reviews for places on websites but I felt I had to after my experience at Bridges. I thought to go to Bridges for a hair cut as they advertised student discount, so when I rang to book an appointment I asked about student discount and they said yes it was 10%. I arrived and was greeted by the receptionist and sat down. So far, so good.
The hair dresser came out and then proceeded to insult my hair and my treatment of it for the next 10 minutes, criticising the shampoo/conditioner/other products I used in a condescending manner - making me feel extremely uncomfortable. After I had explained what I wanted (a previous hair dresser has butchered my long blonde hair and I only wanted a trim and to tidy up the layers) I was met with a scathing refusal to do what I had asked, even though I explained many times I just wanted a simple trim the hair dresser refused and told me I could only have a repetition of what I had had cut before. I could not be bothered to argue so I had my hair washed and sat reading my book.
The total time I was there was about 50 minutes (I believe an average time for a lady's hair cut) and when I was shown the finished product I wasn't exactly happy as she had given me a fringe and cut 3-4 inches off.
As I went to the receptionist I again said I would like the student discount, when I was then told I wasn't eligible for student discount as MY HAIR WAS TOO LONG. I was not told this when I booked, when I walked into the salon, or before I had my hair washed and cut. They waited until I had no choice but to pay the full amount to say that I wasn't allowed student discount as my hair was too long and I had taken up too much of the hairdressers time.
Not only was I disappointed with the service, I believe I was led to believe they offered a student discount until it was too late. Outrageous, I won't be going there again and am furious that I was treated in such a manner.
Rude service, bad haircut and swindled out of 10%. DO NOT
