Mr Topper's
Unisex Hairdresser at 13A Great Russell Street
Been going to them for quite a few years. I'm a disabled woman, I have had both my legs amputated over five years, and the staff have always treated me with great care and understanding, helping me into the seats etc.
And they've always given me wonderful haircuts making me look and feel good, which is very encouraging as I get older. Their charges are remarkable and very affordable - another plus for a disabled woman who does not work.
I've been in this Mr. Toppers several times, and always gotten a decent to pretty good haircut quickly and for little money. Sunny is great, Jo is great, and last time I had a Latino named Jose who did an incredible job. He just knows how to cut hair. If you go here you're not going to get fawned over for an hour, but if that's what you want you'd expect to pay five to ten times the price.
Like all Mr Toppers around London- this place is cheap and cheerful-£6 for a basic mens haircut, but they also offer a £10 option which includes a wash and scissor cut.
At this particular branch Jo and Sonny (both female) are fantastic and will give you a cut to rival any of the more expensive salons in the area.
Highly recommended!
I have been using this branch for many years and always have been happy with the service. That is until recently, now I find it unwelcoming. Nobody greets you when you enter and some of the staff just stare at you. No one seems to want to rush to cut your hair, they seem more interested in the small staff room at the back and I think I know what's going on in there.
On some occasions, there now seems to be only one member of staff on duty, maybe the rest are hiding out in the back room enjoying a little r & r.
