I've seen Lynn twice now and just sent my husband to her as well. She is the first hairdresser I have ever been to who listens and doesn't cut too much off the top! I have a very short pixie and I usually dread hair cuts because they always go too short and I lose my style. With Lynn, I get an amazing cut and shaping every time. My husband was also very happy with his cut as he's very particular.
The only reason I didn't go for a 10 star rating is that I just don't really believe in that level of perfection. But I would (and have) recommend Lynn to friends and family.

Had my hair cut by Patric. Great cut, really pleased with the way it looks and he was able to recommend what I should have done which always helps! Would definitely recommend it!

After my old salon closed and reading reviews on 'All In London', I tried 'SE1 Hair and Beauty'. Glad I did! All staff were friendly and welcoming. Ricky cut and coloured my hair beautifully. He was professional, knowledgable and listened to what I wanted. I will definitely go back to this hidden gem on Bermondsey Street, especially with their delicious coffee as a bonus.

Having read the above, which I can only assume was an unfortunate one off, I am a chap and have been going here for a while now. The staff have always been polite and friendly, and I can say that it always seems to be busy with female/male clients who seem to leave happy! I would happily recommend.

Avoid! One of the staff was very rude. It is over priced and what is worst my hair is horrible and not what I asked for! I am so unhappy with my colour I have re-booked with a different salon to get it corrected waste of time and moneyI My advice is avoid!

Found this salon by chance thanks to the good reviews (mainly), and am very glad I did. Got a great colour and cut/blow dry from Andreas - exactly what I wanted, but adding his personal touch too. And was relieved when the bill came that the price was totally affordable, and much less than I have paid elsewhere for an infinitely lesser experience.
Will definitely go back.

Absolutely brilliant salon. One of the best I've ever been to. High-end salon service at reasonable London prices, lots of personal attention, friendly staff (especially Ricky the owner & Justine who does colour.) Clean & classy decor, plus they give you a decent glass of wine whilst you wait. They did a fantastic job on my hair, colour, cut & blow dry. I discovered them by chance (did a google search as I was in the area & needed a quick fix) & will definitely be going back. Will be travelling from North London, I liked them that much.

I have had blow drys at various hairdressers in London over the years, including those who charge a fortune and Rob, from SE1, is the best at blow drying in the capital.
He dries it exactly the way I like, takes a lot of time, effort and care to get a great look which lasts days.

Just had my hair cut there for the first time. Really pleased with the result, really happy with the way my hairdresser (Lynn) listened to what I was after and chatted to me about it so it was clear she understood. Couldn't quite get comfortable for the wash, but minor point. I have a total fear of going to new hairdressers, and was getting a fringe cut which I was feeling nervous about, so I'm very happy. Very relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Also no pressure to buy products, something I've quite often had from other salons so relief not to be subjected to it. I'll be going back.

On the off chance I had High Lights done as never happy with the colour result elsewhere, a south african guy did the best colour job I have had in years and will definately be back for more

I use this salon every month and have done for years. The staff are friendly and proffessional and always do exactly what is asked of them. On the odd occasion where I have not been happy with a colour (of my choice) they have always changed it for me at no extra charge. Don't mistake the relaxed atmosphere as being unproffessional, they are some of the best hairdressers i have come across in London. The boss really nice and always asks if your happy before you leave. I always recommend this place to friends and they are always happy that I did.

I was very disappointed with SE1. The salon has the potential to be a lovely local salon in a great area of London but my feeling is that some of the staff are holding it back. As other reviewers have mentioned the staff can be moody and disinterested.

I went to the salon for my wedding hair and at the hair practice the staff were lovely and approachable. However, I wasn't that happy with the style so later that week I called to check that it would be ok to change the style to a simpler one and I was reassured that it would be fine.

When I went on the morning of my wedding the hairdresser was in such a bad mood it was difficult to have a conversation and she was not willing to listen to what I wanted or copy a very simple style from a photograph. When I explained that I wasn't happy with what she was doing I was told that there wasn't much she could do unless I wanted hair extensions.

As it was my wedding day I didn't want to get upset so I paid and left. I then went to another hairdresser (with the same photo) who created an amazing hair style just how I had asked.

In addition to the moody staff member I think that the other big difference between the two salons is that in SE1 their techniques are slightly out of date. For example, in SE1 they used heated rollers whilst the second salon used Ghds which give a smoother more professional finish.

I do not normally post reviews on line and my main intention is to highlight to Ricky (who seems to be quite decent) that stronger management and a bit of an update both in technique and customer care could make this salon a really good one.

Our family have been coming here for years, we love it.

Once had a bad haircut, but that was more about he hairdresser herself i think (as it always is).

Shauna-Lee is probably our fav hairdreser (for me, my husband and our 2 boys under 5) but my husband also uses Ricky.

We moved further south a few years back and i tried a few local hairdressers (east dulwich lordship lane) and they were all totally uninspired, the sort of thing that you walk away from not 100 % happy). BUt im always happy with shauna-lee so i make the extra journey these days.

Terrible haircut, tatty salon and moody staff - I went once and will never go back! The only thing that redeems it is the great highlights - a perfect colour, but still not a good hairdressing experience all in all...
