I dropped into LC Hall today to see whether they might adjust some frames for me. At first the gentleman was very obliging but when he saw that the frames had been bought online he became brusque to the point of rudeness, and refused to adjust the frames. Whilst I understand that an opticians relies to an extent on people buying frames from their shop, I think it rather narrow minded to assume (particularly in this digital age) that everyone will do so. Had the optician obliged and charged me for the service he could have made money. Instead I left feeling demeaned and insulted by his tone. Whilst he did not have to do the job for me, he could perhaps have explained his reasons in a more respectful and polite manner.
