About London Knee Clinic
The London Knee Clinic
Extra Information
Description
The London Knee Clinic provides a comprehensive specialist service for the diagnosis and treatment of knee pain, knee injuries, osteoarthritis and knee deformities. Treatment is available for sports injuries of the knee including anterior cruciate and posterior cruciate ligament and meniscal tears.
The London Knee Clinic is based at St. Olaf House, at The London Bridge Hospital, providing the very highest standards of medical care in a comfortable, newly-refurbished hospital. Situated overlooking the South Bank of the River Thames, between London Bridge and Tower Bridge, the London Knee Clinic is within easy reach of the City and with excellent transport links.
The London Knee Clinic has close links with a number of physiotherapy units where many patients are sent for non-surgical treatment of their knee problems (where appropriate) or for post-operative rehabilitation after surgery.
The surgeons of The London Knee Clinic have considerable experience in meniscal surgery, including meniscal repair, meniscal augmentation and meniscal replacement surgery, including meniscal transplantation. They also have a particular interest in patello-femoral problems and anterior knee pain, plus major interests in partial knee replacements, and do partial and total knee replacements with a very short hospital stay. They do not use a tourniquet for any of their surgery and do not use blood transfusions except in very exceptional cases (less than 1%). The majority of cases are done on a day case basis. Video clips are taken of all arthroscopies (keyhole surgery) and provided to patients for discussion following surgery.
