I had no problem getting an appointment and the staff were friendly and helpful. I had a Groupon voucher and thought I'd get substandard treatment but I didn't. I will be going back there again.

I had the worst experience at this salon.
First of all, it took me ages to book. 1)First time I called, the lady told me to call a different number because it wasn't the right one and I was calling her personal line. (I had taken their number from the groupon voucher I had)
Second, it took ages to get through. The lines were always busy and it was fully booked as well. I could only book months away, and I wouldn't know my schedule then. Hence I could only book for a time after the expiration date, which I had told them about on the phone. And they had said it was ok. But when I got there, this elderly lady pointed out that it had expired and she made it sounds like a favor that I could make a booking. I had been 30 minutes late for my booking due to traffic, and I had called her beforehand. However, she had taken someone else who was 2 hours late for their appointment in. Then she told me she couldn't reschedule because I was booked for 45 minutes. I asked her why she took the other girl in and she said it was because she had 6 continuous sessions. I seriously felt offended with the way she spoke, and I would never go there again.
It's basically a ripoff. Sure if you've been there for many years they may be nice. But if you are new and they think you are a once off client, they can be quite rude. I don't believe it makes sense to talk to a client in a condescending manner and if you cannot be accommodating, the least you can be is apologetic. But the lady kept on blaming me for booking on a Saturday and for not coming earlier (which I refuted by explaining about her phone lines) It was very very unpleasant. And I would never recommend this place to anyone. I was told by a friend not to go, but I thought 7d give it a try but she was right. There are a lot more places with better service, nicer not snobby at all people in other areas.
So I would advise you that even if you do see a groupon voucher don't get it as1) you may not be able to redeem it 2) not

Waste of money and time.
I first went there for a facial. The room was very messy and felt dirty. Not all a relaxing experience but ok in terms of the fact that the groupon was not that expensive. However when there was a groupon for IPL I thought that would be ok. I was wrong.
First, it was impossible to book an appointment as the phone was always busy (or off the hook). I had to go in to get an appointment.
The first issue was that the deal was for a large, medium and a small area. I did not care about doing any of the “small” areas they had on their list so I asked to extend the bikini line (medium area). They refused. So, I was already getting less than what I paid for, and the bikini line was actually more just my leg, which had no hair to remove anyway, so all and all, they were just doing 1 area.
After 4 sessions (still no results), I went back for my 5th, and when I showed up was told my appointment was cancelled as the machine had broken. They had apparently “written” to tell me (yeah right!). The first time they could rebook me in was 1 month later. I complained about this, as this was their own fault and they made no effort to try and accommodate me. I suggested that given I had wasted my time for nothing to get there for a cancelled appointment, the least the owner could do was come in a little early to see me (given that all she was doing was my arms it only took 5 minutes). She finally agreed to see me the following Sunday before the store opened.
The following week, I waited 30 mins outside the store when she finally turned up and said they had tried to call me the previous day to change my appointment. I saw the sheet of paper that they got my number from, and the last digit had been changed by somebody else (not me, not my handwriting). She wouldn’t see me then even though it would have only taken her 5 mins and meanwhile I had wasted an hour travelling to see her and waiting outside!
The IPL had no effect, I wasted my time and money.

Its the worst place i ever been to in my life!!!

Im having my laser done in this place, first the woman who does it is very dirty she pick up her nose all the time, second the laser thretment should be done with gel, but the only use water to make it less efective so you have to go back for more seccions, also the receptionist is very rude, is so dificult to book an appoiment as they will hag up the phone on you if u have a gift voucher.

I wouldnt recomend this place even to my worst enemy!!!!

I've been a happy Maida Vale resident for several years, and part of why I love the neighbourhood so much is Marina and the team at Divine. I've been going to Divine for more than 5 years now, so thought it was time a gave a little back to the great team there. I go regularly to get my eye brows threaded and for IPL, and I don't have a single complaint. Marina has changed my eye brows (for the better!) forever, and I won't let anyone else touch them now. I also go to Divine for haircuts, and I'm always happy with it.

I recently purchased a groupon deal than included a facial and a message for 29 pounds and I went to this salon two days ago. Generally, my experience was very pleasant as the lady who did the treatment was very nice and after the facial, my face felt so smooth and was not irritated at all. Sorry to hear that most of the people that have written on here had bad experiences but I thought that I had to write this review because I read these reviews before going to the salon and I really felt bad for buying the deal but now I am glad I did :) The lady who did my treatment is called Sam and she is very nice so may you can ask for her when booking! Good luck :)

I'm sorry to hear that a couple of people had a bad experience (then again, it's usually those who have complaints that use review sites, very few bother to come here to praise good service), and no, I am not a staff member or friend:)
I got a Groupon Voucher for full head of highlights, cut and express manicure. I do agree with previous reviews on the fact that their booking system and handling is really bad. The manicure was very 'express' BUT the highlights absolutely exceeded my expectations!!
A really nice lady named Laura did my hair, took extra time and care when she learned I was getting married in 10 days. I can honestly say that she did the best highlight job I have ever had (and no, they did not try to missell or come with any extra charges)! Even the acclaimed professional hairstylist that did my up do on the wedding day commented how well the highlights were done and how beautiful they looked.
And for all those complaining about the staff being rude - when they were done with my hair (by the way 35 min after their usual opening hours) a summer rain-hell brooke lose outside. The staff actually created a protective headscarf for me, and the manager borrowed my her own umbrella!!
Sorry, you do NOT get that kind of service these days any more! Next time I can only recommend that you make sure you get time with Laura. I will definitely go back, to return the umbrella, show them wedding pictures, and get my highlights touched up:)

The phone lines were never available and the voicemail was full for ages. The online booking system is useless and nobody contacted me even after I left all methods of contact - mobile number and email.

I was unable to speak to a receptionist over the phone for the longest time.

It took me more than a month to finally book an appointment. However, when I showed up today, I was told that I didn't have an appointment and there was nothing they could do.

I was extremely disappointed as this would mean I had to take extra time off work and travel from East London.

I would refund my purchase if I could.

Please be smart and don't go to Divine!

I was very nervous to go to Divine today as the reviews on this page are so negative, but they couldn't be more wrong! I found the staff to be helpful and friendly and my highlights were done to my complete satisfaction.

Went to Divine using a groupon offer for a haircut, highlights and manicure. After reading the other reviews I became a little worried about how things would turn out. After a couple of unnecessarily long winded phone calls to book an appointment - the receptionists aren't quite on the ball. The stylist went through my colour options with me, and then started colouring. So far, so good.

During the next hour or so two customers who were calling up the salon had been double booked. Another had not been booked in at all. Then a girl turned up for her five o'clock appointment for the same offer and was told that two hours would not be long enough to highlight her hair and that she should come back another day. Whilst all this was going on a couple of other people had turned up for their appointments, and the manager had decided that now would be a good time to get a wash and blow dry by one of her employees.

Waiting for my hair to dry, I then had my nails painted which turned out nicely. The colour also was nice, I had chosen a safe option. Then the stylist started cutting my hair. He didn't section it off. Nothing. Just started chopping away, he definitely wasn't very technically skilled. To top things off he pretty much told me he wasn't going to cut my hair properly if I wasn't willing to pay £15 to get it blow dried straight. So after he finished cutting it wet, he was pretty much finished. I had to prompt him into taking a bit more off the back once it was dry, but to be honest, I'd rather have this guy take off too little than too much, so I left it as it was. It pretty much now looks like I cut it myself. I can always go and get it cut somewhere else!

My advice, get your money back if you can. This place is not professionally run, the staff are doing several different treatments, but are not great at any of them. Save yourself the time and money and go to another salon!!!

I can only echo the previous comments, although I was not even allowed to book my appointment to redeem my Groupon vouchers! They have hanged up on me and my boyfriend few times. And the person on the phone was not allowed to book us in!

Unbelievable, 10 days notice to redeem the voucher is apparently not enough, and not even that, but they seem to have full right to treat you rudely and disrespectfully. And what's even worst they seem to be extremely fine with taking your money without delivering what you paid for!

There's too much acceptance towards such an unprofessional behaviour when it comes to customer service, we are going to raise this with UK Consumer Advice Bureau.

Divine in Maida Vale is the worst salon/beauty therapist I have ever visited. I bought vouchers through Groupon.co.uk (who I still believe to be a good website) to treat myself and my Mum to an hour long Dermalogica facial and a hot stone back massage.

I have had quite a few Dermalogica facials in the past (at other salons) and they have all been fantastic, and so I was really looking forward to this one. I wish I had saved my money.

The staff were polite enough, (despite all looking as though they didn't want to be there), but myself and my Mum thought that they didn't seem to know what they were doing.

I would not recommend this place to anyone.

The music was also terrible. Normally in a beauty therapist room you would listen to relaxing music (sound of whales or birds singing or something), but the best of Barbra Streisand and then piano versions of Take That and Steps weren't my idea of what you should hear at a professional beauty therapist.

The treatments themselves also weren't up to scratch... my boyfriend could have done better!

I wish I hadn't have wasted mine and my Mum's time.

It's cheap, but it's cheap for a reason.

The staff in this salon leave a lot to be desired. The owner is rude and unprofessional. Her attitude is archaic, and seems to stem from a deep ignorance of what is good business practice, and what is fair and right. I would NOT recommend this salon to anyone, as I can honestly say I had a truly horrible experience there and would not want anyone else to experience same.
