Gutted to hear they've closed. Completely concur with J P Morgans YouTube on John Bray. The interaction from the man himself guarantees a successful purchase and makes buying an enjoyable experience and GREAT fabrics and cuts. Hope John is enjoying time on the racecourse.

This is a great shop. I have eight John Bray suits and they all fit perfectly. Amazing quality for people who know about fine clothes, and really brilliant help from the sales staff. Sadly with lease problems this is the end game for them and they close in march 2014. End of an era. Buy whatever you can now before its all gone.

In the end bought a beautiful super 140s which was adjusted to my size - perfect first time.
Friendly tailor eager to share knowledge of cut and fabrics. Also enthusiastic and patient with my indecision.

Best in Jermyn St, I've had 7 suits and a coat from here. A little higgleldy picalty but adds to the charm. Always great service. Staff always seem to know what you want, will advise on fit and style. tailoring service first class. On my way to pick up suit no8 as I type :0)

This place has a full range of top quality suits & shirts. I was greeted by Mr Bray, yes he was as tough as old boots and I can see why some people would call him pushy. I was after a blue suit. He took one look at me and came back with 2 suits which fit perfect, bar a slight alteration on the trouser which they did for my within 24 hrs. The colour was perfect. Yes this shop may lack the 'museum' style, but you get simply a fine suit which FITS. Service straight to the point and whats more I did not feel like a stuck up ponce whilst in there I felt like a gangster & now look like one too.

Very muddled shop but quality in abundance....pushy salesmen. Very old fashioned but not in a nice sense. There are some excellent clothes here but the shop needs a complete makeover.

Mr Thompson,
Thanks for your review. I would like to apologise if you found any of the salesman pushy, but as you noticed, we are not in a museum business as the others menswear, we do offer such a big range of cloth and different fits. Therefore it is very important to help our client finding the right fit.
But the good side of it is that we care about fitting people invidually with the best cloth on the market.
Hope to see you again.
Best regard

I have been trawling the West End for the last six months searching for the perfect formal jacket.Yesterday I found it at John Bray Ltd. in Jermyn Street.
I met with Mr Bray and a member of his staff. I found them courteous, polite and knowledgeable.I would strongly recommend this emporium to anyone with serious sartorial ambitions.

A very professional and serviceminded shop. I bought my first suit there at feb 2007.
I visited the shop and was at first served by one of the employes, after wile an older gentleman, John Bray himself, came and began to listen to what i wanted and after that he have taken my measurements he presented me a suit that was exactly what I was looking for.
He needed to send it to a taylor to make it fit perfectly to my person and after 2 hours I have my suit perfectly fitted and it was free of charge. That is first class service. After that I am a regular costumer at John Bray, Jermyn Street. I have bought several suits, jackets, ties and shirts at the shop.
I will highly recommend John Bray.

The initial service was ok, and was from the owner himself, however as soon as the sale was made he wasn't interested in helping. Upon advising John Bray of my experience he insisted the servise was good and that I was getting a bargain, he did not even attempt to understand or recognise the poor service I had been given. I will never go back and wish I had never been there.
