Abbey

This is my favourite clothes shop in London - and I know about clothes! They stock a range of cult, quiky designers (Marithe Francois Girbaud, Sonia Rykiel, Patrizia Pepe) and the look is edgy and elegant at the same time - no mean feat! Debbie, the owner, and her staff are unfailingly knowledgeable about the stock and, best of all, about styling a look. Most of the time I walk away from The Abbey with items I would never normally have even tried on yet these go on to become my staples.

I love this shop, its one of those independent boutiques where they stock the most gorgeous clothes and accessories from well known designers to newer, up and coming ones. They stock a perfect mix of stylish edgy casual and more formal wear. The owner is brilliant at knowing exactly what suits you (move over Gok/T&S!) and they will go out of their way to order/courier particular items for you - they've sent clothes all over London for me and even over to Switzerland. Abbeville Road is a great destination so definitely worth making the trip to check this shop out.

My daughter and I have been using the Abbey for over 7 years and it never fails to surprise me with great individual pieces that we both love. We have been treated really well everytime we've visited and the staff have been more than happy to cater to our requests, wheather that be an alteration or good styling advice or to order a certain piece. If you are ever in the Abbeville road area do go in i'm sure you won't be disapointed. I love this shop and hope to continue shopping there for another 7 years.

This is a great little boutique, with an unusual and attractive mix of clothing and friendly staff. But - oh boy - 3 times now, I've tried to order an item, each time I'm charmingly told that they'll be picking up stock the following week and will notify me by phone, when my item has arrived. The call never comes. I've spoken to the owner and an assistant, given my telephone number each time and assured the owner - at her request, that I'll be in there as quickly as humanly possible, as soon as she lets me know the item is to be collected. Each conversation is treated like a 1st time request and awe and amamzement shown, when I say that it's a repeat request, but I am no closer to receiving said item!
