I have found the shop in Chapel Market very convenient for purchasing school uniform and getting advice on sizes etc. The quality is good in particular the school jacket. They have processed school vouchers also.

Awful!


I ordered five shirts and five jumpers, they only sent four shirts and two jumpers and when I emailed them several times over three weeks they have basically called me a liar and refused to send the items or refund my money. The total came to £100! Obviously overpriced but expected from places like this taking advantage of the fact that we can't shop elsewhere. Unfortunately we are held to ransom as parents and forced to use this shop to buy the branded items.

Disgusting way to treat a customer who has spent hundreds here over the years and will probably have to spend hundreds more.

I had to go here twice to get my 11 year old's uniform and I could not have been happier with the service I received. They were friendly, polite and helpful. Also, in this covid-aware time, they made me feel very safe!

I had the worst experience and the manager was so rude to me today. I wanted to exchange trousers that didn’t fit bit because I had gone over the 2 week period he wouldn’t allow it. You would think during these times when we can’t try things on they would be a bit more lenient but they don’t care as they are the only shop to go to in the area. Avoid if you can! Thanks

One particular member of staff/ (one of the owners) of Rough Cut shop at Islington was very rude towards me when I went in to return a school item that would not fit my son. On another occasion I made a genuine complaint about a school trouser material/unfitting cut (that rough cut had sold me) but was thrown out of the shop and told to go shop elsewhere. I never received a refund for the trouser either. I was told I had exceeded 14 days return/refund period. I donated the trouser to my son's school.
It seems Rough Cut Uniform shop are the only ones with a life time tender to sell school uniforms locally. I have observed the staff/owners ego, bad language and dismissive attitudes towards customers has increased over the years. People with babies/prams not being allowed in the shop etc
Conclusion: The Islington community urgently requires a different school uniform trader locally.

I have always used Rough cuts casuals, Its an almost-one -stop -shop for school uniforms. I used it for my then 11 year old who is now 19 and off to Uni and now for my youngest who is currently in year 7. Good quality uniforms but as a multiple birth parent, I thought the 10% off should've been extended to August.

Paid for a uniform and PE kit in July, i was not offered the july 10 % discount. I was told the Pe kit would be in in a couple of days. I finally got a txt in September saying it was in and had to queue for over an hour to collect it!

Always a pleasure to shop there. I travel from far for the professional service and good quality school uniform. Highly recommend this shop.

The staff at Rough Cut Casuals are very helpful and they can provide everything that your child will need for starting Secondary School.

Very friendly school uniform shop with reasonable prices that caters for a lot of the local secondary school uniforms.

if purchasing for a new school year, don't leave it till the last minute or you will find yourself in a very long queue!!!
