Shocked to see how many good reviews are on here. My husband and his friends went in a few months back and were racially abused by an older man who seemed like he owned the place. His friends were visiting from Asia and as a result, weren't speaking English to my husband (who has lived in the UK most of his life). As soon as my husband responded back in English he changed his tune automatically but the damage was already done. As cheap as the shoes may be here, this shop should not be supported. Disgusting behavior. Avoid at all costs.

This is a brilliant little shop. It's a tiny little space with shoes and boots from floor to ceiling, and barely enough room to move. Trying on shoes often means shifting some boxes and/or shoes to make room on the single bench.

The people working there (a father and son business, I understand) are the epitome of the East End "cheeky chappy" market trader set. Really friendly, chatty and jokey people.

The official Doc Martens site sells Chelsea boots for £95. I bought my current pair there for £45. Hell, I now live in Malmö (Sweden), and I still travel back there to buy boots. OK, I do visit mates as well, but I always shop at Blackman's if it's time for a new pair of boots.

This unconventional non glossy shoe shop is in my view the best place to buy any Doc Marten or Solovair or come to that any shoe or boot , great prices , half price or less , great old school father and son business , just how London once was , no heirs and graces or poncey packaging , i hope this place stays around for good , great deals , great footwear , nice people .
