I went to this business this evening to make a payment using Paypoint to pay a bill.
You can pay bills with cash at any of the shops with a Paypoint terminal. Under the terms of the agreement between the shop and Paypoint the shop are not allowed to make any charge to the customer but get a commission on the payment.
Unfotunately, I was asked for a payment of £1.50 and thinking the terms had changed, I paid it to them.
When I returned home, I looked up the Paypoint web site and it very clearly says that its free to use and a breach of the terms of their agreement for a shopkeeper to charge as this shop did to me.
Whilst I suppose they will not return my £1.50 to me, what concerns me is the other 99 out of a hundred who pay without knowing any better so this shop gets £150 from every hundred of their customers who they wrongly charge like this.
No retailer is allowed to charge for cash payments made to Paypoint!
