By far the worst post office I have been to in East London, All Thanks to the man working for them. He will always have a comment to make on your parcel and how you have done something wrong in every parcel you send but instead of saying what's wrong, he will say 'don't come to me if Royal Mail sends you a penalty fine'.

Another thing he keeps repeating, parcel has to be exact accurate weight in grams to the T otherwise you get a fine.

On this specific date, 31st October 2022 at approximately 08.35am, I went in to send a parcel, he made a comment how Royal Mail will send me a fine because my parcel is not exactly accurate in weight. I've asked him do Royal Mail give you an option to put exact accurate weight, he replied 'Yes they do' so then I kindly asked him to show me where it gives you an option thinking I'm missing something on the Royal Mail website, he in a rude tone of voice replied 'I don't have the energy for this'.

Correct me someome if I'm wrong? Does Royal Mail even give you an option to put the exact weight? Or do they give you estimate weight for example upto 250g, 500g etc which is what I always seem to see when sending a parcel.

I've never experienced this with any post office I have been to, and I have been to several over my time in sending parcels, also ParcelShops like Yodel and Evri sending a parcel has always been smooth, which I think I will stick to going forward.

Thanks for taking the time to read my experience I've had with this particular post office on Philipot Street.

Avoid this place at all costs. The staff are extremely rude and patronising. I’ve been in there a few times when I’ve absolutely needed to and they completely speak down at you. I bite my tongue every time but honestly who on earth do they think they are?! Try and use a different post office. If you want an awful start to your day, then this is the place. I genuinely hope it shuts down. Really feel sorry for the elderly customers who go in there to use their awful services

This is the only po in the area that offers a real experience the staff and the management offer a very unique way of working
It is a very mixed area certain people who live in the area do not want to mix with others and will try and cause haterid there is a massive drug problem in the area and drink problems the po staff get Alot of rude and unsociable people who came in and make trouble
We should appreciate the kindness of the staff who are always happy to help as with the comment about the man with the pigment on his face it is called vitalogo
He is a nice person he has His issue but always does a good job and should praise him for what he does I'm sure Alot of us would not put up with swearing and rudeness every day

I'm in shock and appalled by my experience today at Philpot Street Post Office. The man working there is extremely rude and patronising, talked over me and made me buy stuff I didn't need, called me 'not very clever' etc. basically he shamed me in front of other customers and staff. Probably he has hearing problems as well because he doesn't hear what you are saying just talks over you. I left the shop in tears saying it's the last time I came here. He shouldn't work in customer service.

The staff at Philpot Street Sub Post Office have absolutely no idea about how to provide a good level of service to customers. The staff tend to be stroppy and can be abusive to customers and generally talks down to them. Please avoid this place if you are expecting to be treated politely, professionally and with a degree of respect by the staff here. This has been an ongoing issue for many years, and really should have been sorted out by now, as this type of service is certainly tarnishing the Post Office's reputation.

Horrendous. I was nearly left in tears when I visited a few days ago. I was already anxious going in as I had a few parcels + normally when I take a just one, they act like they are doing a massive favour for you processing it.
I was the only customer in there+was shouted and told "you never make an effort"? I was thrown a royal mail slip+told to fill it in, "I gave these to you before" (yes he did, 1 year ago). I was in complete shock.
The manager acts like he is doing you a favour and giving the postage service for free and like you are an inconvenience.
I have never in my life been spoken to the way he spoke to me, just because I brought a few parcels? It's totally bizarre.
I really do not know what his problem is. Why work in the service industry if you are rude and don't want to provide a friendly, local service? A girl used to work there but I haven't seen her in a while and she is always absolutely lovely.
I will not be going back as I am

Very rude staff. Very inquisitive about packages and letters and whats in them. They always try and sell u the more expensive form of delivery. Extremely rude. Employees seem like theyve been taught by the manager / the guys whos been there for years and follow in his footsteps and question you about your package like you have done something wrong. I try and avoid and use the one on whitechapel road. Extremely let down by the rude staff. Need customer service skills asap.

Disgustingly rude staff who refused to help or even point me in the right direction. One man in particular was speaking to me in a very patronising tone and refused to help me. Will not reccomend!!!!!!!!!!

I have been to this post office on a number of occasions there are staff that are not courteous and in a nut shell I have unfortunaly found rude. There are a couple of staff I have noticed that are good and I tend to use them. It's a shame when members of the team let others down I think they should have some training. Well done to the hard workers you know who you are as you alway smile!

There are better post offices in the area than this one. It seems ok for local residents cashing pensions etc, but service is very rude and inconsistent. Cards can be used for postage but not stationary and envelopes, making transactions very long winded and inconvenient to the customer. Eastern post office on Whitechapel Rd is an alternative, and The post office at 11 White Kennet Street
City of London E1 7BS is the best in the area, with a brilliant seating area to wait in and a ticket system that works.
