I used this post office for currency exchange and got the most friendly service, cheered me right up. The post office is well stocked and organised, good for the community.

Be careful using self service weigh and pay machines. I weighed a packet on one machine and just checked it on the second to be sure - and it was about £2 cheaper on this machine !!! I informed the staff who told me I should inform the manager (who was sitting in the next seat) errr ok...so the manger was informed. I proceeded to weigh and paid for my packet at the counter.
The manager came out and checked the machines with my packet and when the second machine showed an even lower price than I had got originally she said this was due to a mistake she'd made just then on doing the process.

She went through the weigh and pay process again and this time the price came to the same as I'd paid a the counter.

The manager said the problem was due to the air conditioning unit above the machine but it weighs correctly- errr, not in my experience and why is the unit positioned there then if it inteferes with the operation?. She said the weigh machines are checked every day.

I pointed out the scale (now with nothing on it) was registering 0.00lkg she said its due to the , ''wind'' coming from the air conditioning and the machine does reset itself and sure enough it did. She went on to say it doesn't matter because ,'' its only 1.''

The weigh scale in a post office or any other service we pay for needs to be correct and an incorrect charge £2 may I imagine determine whether a parcel would actually get delivered or not.

I will keep double checking or just use the till (providing and hoping they're calibrated regularly) ????

This post office is one of the better ones, I use it all the time because its one of 5 in london which give a better exchange rate.

Normally I can walk straight in and right upto the counter, except on pension days when i might have to wait about 2 minutes.

The staff are all down to earth and helpful.

There is a single queue system, There really nicely placed, because theres a side road opposite you can go about 10m down and park and be back in under 5 mins.

It provides automatic doors for disabled people as well, so accessibilty for disabled or if your sending a massive package is really easy.

Frequently very long queues for which there is sympathy for both staff and customers. I queued for ages (with four small packets to weigh and post) in the queue for the small counter, then gave up and queued for ages at the long counter, then saw that queue had gone down at small counter and rejoined this queue. When I reached the head of the queue (with just one customer behind me by this time) I was told that it was post office policy that I could not be served as they had brought in a rule that there should be no more than one packet to be dealt with at the samll counter - to cut down on queues. I said this was not general information and my attention was directed to a tiny crumpled piece of paper facing the wrong way and attached to the till which was intended to notify customers of this fact. I had to go back and rejoin the queue for the long counter. A great big poster prominently displayed would have been a lot better. If there was a bit more competition for the post office, they would not be able to treat customers in this manner.
