It took almost 10 weeks to get a depsoit returned and it transpired Carringtons had not registered it with the Tenacy Deposit Scheme. Caveat emptor!!!

This is advice to anyone (mainly Tenants) who has to deal with Carringtons. If you are ever told that your deposit or other monies will be paid to you on monday do not believe it. This is a tactic they use to postpone dealing with your request. I was told this every week for a period of 7 weeks for one payment and also on a seperate occasion for a further week for the return of my deposit. On the second occasion I had learnt my lesson and ignored this response and persisted to speak to the people actually handling the situation. There are often other issues that need resolving before this tantalizing Monday occurs and the money is returned to you. Be strong and dial those dreaded numbers again.
Apart from this I can't really say I have noticed any difference in Carringtons to any other estate agents.
