Beer, coffee, millionaire shortbread and a heavy does of cycling culture...

The beer selling, Tour de France showing, bike fixing café and all round perfect stop off for that tired old Clerkenwell Road ride, Look Mum No Hands is one of our favourite places. In residence at the midway point of Clerkenwell Road between Shoreditch and Central London, the stylish cycling venue takes a little bit of everything and gives a whole lot.

LMNH branded products hang from the walls along with vintage bike posters, bunting and beautiful bike-lends designed to make you salivate over your next two-wheeled purchase. In fact, the only thing at LMNH that will make you salivate more than the classic steel frames on display is the millionaire shortbread that is possibly the best we’ve ever tasted. Eat with Square Mile coffee, conceivably while you wait to have your bike fixed by the in-house workshop. Besides the sweet shortbread and coffee, Look Mum No Hands has a selection of craft beers by the bottle and a range of salads, quiche, sausage rolls and other artisanal light bites. Our only peeves with the place are the prices and its popularity – but one of those can’t be helped. Food doesn’t come cheap here and tables are often hard to find despite being a large, airy space.

Visit anytime but try to take in a bike race on the projector screen. The atmosphere during Grand Tour season - Tour de France, Giro, Vuelta – is awesome and there’s nowhere better to see a dramatic solo break than here on a hot day with a cold bottle of Kernel in hand. What’s more it opens early and closes late, giving you all the opportunity you’ll ever need to visit.

Part café, part workshop, part social hub, it seems Look Mum No Hands can do no wrong. It’s the best place in London to watch the Tour de France and other Classics and they serve some mighty fine beers. You’ll also find a range of bike accessories and components, plus customer-borrowed bikes displayed to make you drool.

So, don’t bother getting greasy in your own bike shed, just come here and waste your money on someone else doing the hard work so you can enjoy those delicious Square Mile beans while you watch.
