Beware to check what Evans Cycles are charging for the same kind of bike. I didn't and I ended up being chargd 5% more on a £700 bike.

They have a very small selection of bikes. This is a very small store!

My bike is now due for its first post purchase service which is free. However, since I work out of the area it is proving difficult to arrange a date as the shop refuses to allow me to pick up the next day explaining that they don't have storage facilities. They claim that Evans Cycles charge a £25 babysitting fee for each day a bike is left in their store. I haven't checked out if this is the case.

Overall, why would one shop in a small shop except for the individualised service. This is where the small shop has to excel or die. I gave up with Evans cycles in disgust after repeated very poor service by their in-house bike mechanic. So far I have been happy with this small shop's mechanic but that is all I have been happy with. Is that enough? Time will tell.
