This is a wonderful shop, everything for the sewer and crafter. helpful staff but very busy. Next door is the machine repair department where you can also buy parts for you machine.

Further down towards Balham tube is another fabric shop called Pak Cloth, mostly Indian fabrics but a good variet

Amazing place. Right next to Tooting Bec station, this store is a treasure chest. Since I've found it I go there for every occasion. They've got fabrics, craft supplies, knitting goods, machines, ribbons. And they've recently added a fabulous upstairs section where they have a VEry impressive soft furnishings department, complete with all sorts of fabrics and bits n bobs, And you can order curtains or blinds made! Same floor has Evining and Bridal dept., again lots of lovely fabrics, amazing lace, and again you can have a dress made to order by one of the ladies there. OVer all I love this place!

i went to see this shop Wimbledon Sewing Machine Co from searching the internet. First i went to the second hand machine shop next door where a young man was very helpful but they didn't have what i wanted so he took me to the sewing shop to see his Auntie , they were both so helpful and professional .
i would recommend this shop 10 out of 10.

I have just left this store and gone to a different fabric store to make a substantial purchase as I have found the staff so unhelpful. This is not my first experience of their lack of interest in customers. In the past I have just let it go and bought material from them despite instead of because of their staff.
They made me feel stupid and difficult because I asked them to help me calculate the amount of material I needed to buy and seemed astonished that I should need help.
I really would recommend going elsewhere for your fabric needs, especially if you are a novice in the material world.

This is the only shop I know of locally that has a good range of knitting patterns, wool, sewing patterns, fabric and best of all, terrific buttons at really reasonable prices, as well as a whole range of other craft products like card making, rug making and fimo modelling, painting ect. The staff are really friendly and helpful and unlike department stores the staff can actually advise on the products because can knit and sew themselves. Love this shop loads. Its like stepping back in time to the old wool shops that are now a thing of the past if you live in London. x
