Established since 1864, Middlesex County Cricket Club is now more affectionately known as Lord's Cricket Ground. The season of 1947 will probably remain the most significant period of the club's history - in which DCS Compton gained a record 3816 runs including 18 centuries (a record which has remained unequalled). Today the club hosts many national and international matches.
