Really disappointing. I paid for the most expensive wash cut and blow dry. When the shop started filling up she hurried and didn't Finish properly. When I asked her to make a few improvements her response was 'job finished, you're wasting my time' . I now have to go elsewhere. Not a good ROI!

I got my eyebrows threaded here and was most disappointed. They man behind reception made me pay before the treatment and made my feel very uncomfortable. The lady doing the treading took off much too much than I have asked for and gave me no shape. Its cheap but not worth it, do not go here.

I am not a fussy customer when it comes to beauty salons - I don't have a problem with basic services if the prices are reasonable. I moved to this area recently and this is the first place I have tried to get a brazillian wax. It's the worst and the most expensive wax I have ever had. The waxing materials were cheap and looked unhygienic. The therapist (the owner I think) expressed her disgust at a few ingrown hairs and told me it was 'acne'. And the wax was more of a normal bikini line than a Brazillian. When I pointed out to her that she had not waxed all the hairs that a Brazillian includes, she told me she had done it already and that if I wanted more I should have a Hollywood wax. I would have walked out there and then if I hadn't already paid for the treatment! I certainly would never go here again and I can't believe that this place has actually been making business for as long as it has!

DO NOT GO HERE! I arrived, the man at the reception was UNBELIEVABLY rude, the place smelt badly of damp (look at the wall by the stairs at the back of the room). He proceeded to make me PAY for the services BEFORE I had any treatments which I felt uncomfortable about. I was then charged £2 to pay by card despite spending £57 on half leg wax, mani and pedi. The products they used on me were cheap and nasty, the leg wax was fast and left hairs and wax on my legs. The nail polish was so cheap it came off in less than 24 hours at the ends. The pedicure was rubbish and she got paint on my skin and kept jabbing behind my nails which actually really hurt!! They spoke ABOUT ME in Indian - I knew because they looked at me and were talking about 'pregnant' which I am (6 months). The woman kept asking me about my tattoo and asking me to write the name of the place I got it done down before I left - she was more interested in that than if I was having a pleasant time. The didn't smile one.. in fact, if I hadn't been made to pay before my treatments I would have walked out after the wax. DO NOT GO HERE, bad and rude staff, costly, terrible treatments, cheap products, moldy walls, dirty treatment rooms with no towels..... NOTHING GOOD TO SAY!!

Threading:
I was not happy with the way one eye-brow had turned out, so I switched beauticians in between the treatment. What the lady had done was threaded my eye-brows at a weird angle and had taken off more hair than what I had communicated. When the next lady took over, the owner, I was happier with the result.

Waxing:
I had a bad experience with this part. My waxing was carried out by the owner. Two things contributed to my bad experience: the quality of the waxing and the attitude of the owner. The quality of the waxing was poor and at best mediocre. The owner had missed lots of hair that was visible to me. I had to do this several times, as she kept on missing hair. When I did request this, I was greeted with reluctance, aggravation and a defensive attitude. I was reminded many times about her substantial experience in this field in response to my requests of finishing the job off properly. I would consider the result of my waxing in terms of quality, to be mediocre and with regards to the service, very poor. I am now left wondering, how, in the light of her 23 years experience, she can overlook such basic elements in a common beauty treatment and customer service. Would I re-visit, NO. Would I recommend, NO based on my experience, however, that's an unfair recommendation since my negative experience was limited to two beauty treatments. I hope they get better and if you decide to go, that your experience is far more pleasant.

Price:
Is nothing to frown over too much, and is cheap compared to London prices but expensive compared to east-London prices. Eye brow threading here is £6. In other parts of London, I know you can expect to pay up to £20. However, I usually go to a lovely beautician, Ruposhi, based on Bethnal Green road who charges £3.50 for eyebrows. She is very good.

This is THE place to go to get your eyebrows done. I have been going to this place since it opened and they have been great. The manager that runs the place trains all her therapists to thread the same way so there is a real consistent element to the threading. I really recommend, there are cheaper places in the east end but this is the best for threading. I cannnot comment on previous posts re hair etc as I only go for threading but I have yet to be dissapointed! Also, in the grand scheme of things, topshop and top beauty salons charge £15 for this so whats a few extra pounds!

I went in here for a last minute haircut because I was desperate and couldn't get to my usual salon. The service was appalling. Firstly, they charged me £20 for a dry cut, when their pricing schedule clearly stated £15. I queried this with them but was told it was because I had layers in my hair. The lady who "trimmed" my hair clearly did not have any professional training and didn't seem to have a clue about how to trim layered hair. I had to repeatedly insist that she trim my layers, not just the easy bit at the back. I was not best pleased with the end result and will have to pay twice for a more reputable hairdresser to sort the mess out. I should have known better, given my awful experience of having my eyebrows threaded in there a few years ago. Definitely a place to avoid.

Never go to this place. Never !!! They take 6 pounds for making eyebrows while there are so many places in London where you can get it done for lesser prices like one or two pounds. Also it is done horibbly. They take 45 pounds for an ordinary hair cut and blow dry which is so expensive. And the hair cut is also not that well done, So please avoid this place.

I visited Apsara Herbal last Friday (without an appointment) and would definitely recommend the eyebrow threading and tinting services. Its £6 for each, and I was very pleased with the results.
Be warned.... this is not a luxurious salon - do not expect to be pandered to! Although the beauticians there are not over friendly (they do speak to one another in a foreign language whilst they are attending to you) they know what they are doing, and the prices are very reasonable. I would definitely go back - for me it is worth the short journey from the city to avoid the hassles of appointment making/ rescheduling, waiting around and extortionate prices.

It's true the staff aren't polite or know much English but it's a very good place to go for eyebrow threading - cheap and well shaped.

DO NOT GO HERE FOR ANYTHING!!!
I went here with my little sister for piercings. My little sister went to get her ears pierced & my nose pierced. The nosering was too big & the positioning was TOO high!!! My little sisters hole was not accurate as eachother, one was high, the other was low. The cost was £15 for the nosering & £10 for earrings.

DO-NOT-GO-TO-THIS-SHOP!!!

The staff were very unpolite & didn't understand a word of english!

AARRGH <<< STILL ANGRY!!!

I went to apsara for a half leg wax and the service was pretty appalling. Firstly, my beauty therapist did not say one word to me despite my many attempts to engage her in conversation, I was given no advice about after-care. The room was dingy and dirty and there were no towels or paper between me and the bed.

The wax itself was the most painful I've ever had, and I've had many. It appeared that she was trying to wax as much of my leg as possible with one strip and as a result there was a lot of waxy residue left on my legs. My legs are still stinging, over 5 hours later, something that has never occurred after a leg wax. Now my legs are covered in red spots and there is still many short hairs left on.

Don't go here for waxing!
