I have been a client at Alan Reeves for many years now, all of the stylists have done my hair. They are trust worthy, and confident, the salon has a relaxation mood about it which is lovely. I also have many beauty treatments done there, and both beauticians, deborah and lorraine, are very good, I feel I can confide in them. Everyone in the salon are very easy going friendly people. The salon always looks proffessional and clean. I will continue visiting Alan Reeves for many more years, I would highly recommend it.

I recently use the services of Alan Reeves hairdressers and have been left stunned.
If you were to walk pass and even into Alan Reeves you would be right in thinking this was an Aveda hair salon. Aveda is above the door on the outside and Aveda products are displayed in the window. Imagine my surprise that after having my hair highlighted I was informed that they DONT use Aveda hair color, but Wella which the salon has no advertising for what so ever. This, I was told, is because it takes longer to mix the colors and people were complaining about it fading too fast. Now being someone who has just spent the last ten years trying to get as "natural" as possible hair color into my hair it has left me outraged that I was not informed of this before, as a new client to the salon. I am now back at square one with glow in the dark blonde hair!! I would have rather had my hair fade quicker and it look more natural than the peroxide white blonde it is.
Response from Jill Reeves Company Secretary
Alan Reeves Hair and Beauty is not an Aveda Concept Salon where only Aveda products would be used for hair and beauty. Our web site and A board clearly state Aveda products for "retail". We do not have any form of advertising that states we are a concept salon and only use Aveda products. We do indeed have an Aveda sign on the door as we do for Guinot, Essie, which are all retail products. We do use Aveda products in the salon for washing, conditioning and styling the hair but not for technical use. Salons that retail brands do not automatically use the brand for technical work unless it is a concept salon.
