By the way, my 1 star is for the GP and NOT the administration staff.
I have previously written a review with great praise for a receptionist, however , this is NOT a nice review and it was about a doctor
I had blood tests as a check up for my hypertension. The results came in very quickly and the text message which was sent to my phone read , call the surgery to book an appointment to see the doctor to discuss my results. Alarm bells signal. I call the GP the next day. This was 5.4.2023. Lovely receptionist gives me a date for 26.4.23
I say , absolutely not. With hypertension, NO. She advises me to call back on 6.4.2023. I do so and am told that a GP will call me between 2pm-6pm that day 6.4.2023
At 06.29pm i get a call. No apology, he just starts talking bloods. I said can i just stop you. The call was to be between 2-6. He says the afternoon list overran. Then just continues. Could i just rock up half an hour after my allotted appt time an expect to be seen? I do not think so. He explains all is well, my cholesterol has come DOWN from last year but he thinks i should go on cholesterol tablet's. He says 'what do you think'. I said ABSOLUTELY NOT!!He said 'pardon' , I said NO. What kind of help are these Drs, force feeding us more and more tablets???? I said let me work this out, my cholesterol has gone DOWN, but you want me to take more tablets than the three i already have to take for my hypertension?? he said 'yes'. I said WOWWWWWWW!!!! No mention of how we were going to keep the cholesterol down naturally. Do our surgeries get a kickback from these drug companies??Why are our GPs intent of assisting our kidneys to malfunction? There was no mention of, eat more greens, drink more water, walk more , take up running!!....just pop more pills. I am highly disgusted with my consultation. MY suggestion to him was that i continue doing what i am doing and in six weeks or so i will get another set of bloods done and see if there was any further changes. Just at the end of the conversation , he apologised for calling me late. I got off the phone and was furious of how we as patients seem to be being dealt with.

Called surgery today about covid test as alot of people has had there's covid vaccine and asked why people who are lower health condition getting there vaccine and I haven't as I only have 30% of my lungs left working and I also suffer with puemonia and was told by reception that it DONT MATTER what conditiotns I have . I have it call recorded and that they haven't had or got no appointments and I said well my brother had his yesterday even he said that he couldn't believe that I hadn't had mine yet as my condition are much worse than his and that he was offered a covid from King's college hospital as well as one from the doctor and I cant even get one.... I was crying and adked to speak to the doctor as I dont know how much more i can take and was told that there's no appointments as I haven't been out at all since feb/ March 2020 only 3 times to go doctors this is ABSOLUTELY disgraceful to be treated like this by the reception staff but my doctor is fantastic but iam really worried about my Anxiety!!! I RECOMMEND THE DOCTORS BUT THE RECEPTION DEFINITELY NEEDS IMPROVEMENTS.
