About Kew Bridge Steam Museum:The Kew Bridge Steam Museum is located on the most important site of the water supply industry in the UK. Exciting, eh? Well, it is if you’re a fan of old steam engines as here you’ll be able to watch them in action, however note that they only run on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays, even though the museum itself is open Tuesday to Sunday. You will also find diesel, water-powered, electric, and animal-powered engines that date back to Victorian times, and a detailed gallery explaining the history of London’s water supply since Roman times. On Sundays between April and October it’s even possible to step back in time and ride on a purpose-built steam railway, inspired by the Kempton Park coal railway constructed in 1916. There, who said steam engines weren’t fun?
