Hoping someone can help me please.
I am driving down to London on Tuesday 29th November with my dad to watch the Chelsea v Liverpool cup game at Stamford bridge. Normally we would get the train and stay over night but we both have to be in work on the Wednesday so are going to have to drive down and drive straight back after the game (for our sins!)
We are driving down Tuesday morning so will get to London early afternoon, we've been told the best thing to do is drive to Stanmore tube, park there and get the tube in. Though does anyone know whether the car park will be full by then? And is this even the best option? We don't fancy driving right into London and paying the congestion charge etc.
Also, looking at the tube map I'm thinking we'll just need a zone 1-5 day pass but do the trains go late enough for us to get back from Fulham Broadway to Stanmore? The game kicks off at 8pm but there is the potential of extra time/penalties etc and also general waiting around/ fan herding at the end of the game so we may only get out about 11.30. Just thinking with it being about 45 minutes away from Fulham Broadway whether we would struggle? I'm thinking we'll be fine but just wanted to check.
