LTRC Event Review of 2006
During 2006, LTRC became regards as the club to rival for events with in excess of 500 members events being available including at least one event per week which was completely free and twenty events per month costing members under £20.

"Our philosophy is that if you are paying a membership fee, you should be given something in return. In 2006, we introduced free monthly Sunday movie screening which proved a great success and included a number of OSCAR and BATFA award-winning films including 'Brokeback Mountain', 'Walk the Line', 'Syriana' along with 'Mission Impossion : III' and more recently 'Perfume' and 'Stranger Than Fiction' as we feel organising a serious of discounted theatre & musical social outings, invites to private previews at galleries, nights at private members clubs and our own special events", comment Mr Hobbs

2006 events which members could attend included discounted entry to private members clubs & popular bars - many of which included special drinks promotions or free canapes, heavily discounted theatre productions including the latest musicals, comedies and dramas, live music, film premieres and much more.

LTRC's theatre events saw the cream of Hollywood and UK talent on stage as we watched Neve Campbell, Kathleen Turner, Kevin Spacey, Sir Ian McKellen, Richard Wilson, John Barrowman, Brian Cox, Rufus Sewell, Kelly Reilly, Simon Russell Beale, Andrew Lincoln, Nigel Harman, Sarah Lancashire, Roger Allum, Matthew Modine, John Hurt, Diana Rigg, Megan Dodds, Iain Glen, Christian Slater, Claire Higgins, Michael Sheen, Frank Langella and many others in a series of sold out theatre productions & outings in London - sometimes we had to repeat the same play four times to cope with demand. LTRC members also enjoyed outings to popular London landmarks including a tour of the Bank of England, Buckingham Palace, The Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, The Tower of London for the Ceremony of the Keys and much more.

What Type of People Joins LTRC
LTRC is unlike many clubs in London as membership is open to anyone who wishes to join and this has helped make the club on of the most cosmopolitan in London.

"We felt that because our events were aimed at a type of person - such as someone who enjoyed opera, classical music, live theatre, live music and so forth - we didn't have to tailor the club to one specific age profile", Mr Hobbs said.

"We've seen evening where people have come from over twenty different countries as well as nights we people have aged from early 20s to late 50s - often a bonus for quiz nights where questions can range from Celebrity Big Brother to who fought in The War of the Roses".

People who join LTRC come from a variety of professions including the city, secretarial, medical, accountancy, information technicology, recruitment, teaching, the arts, hospitality as well as a variety of students and people who've just moved to London.

The club has introduced a special membership rate for new members under 35 this New Year with annual membership costing just £50. (See http://www.ltrc.co.uk/35 )

"When you first move to London, everything is expensive. You have the cost of the rent, travel card, food and drinks; and people want to make friends and settle as quickly as possible. I remember when I came to London aged 22, my salary covered by shared rent with a little over and to have to pay £15 a month to be a member of a club plus all the event costs would be prohibited for me. £4 is much more affordable and people can use their hard earned money to come out and socialise".

Looking forward to 2007
LTRC members are set for an amazing 2007 with theatre productions starring Dame Maggie Smith, Patrick Stewart, Imelda Staunton, Ian McDiarmid, Jessica Lange, Richard Schiff, Robert Lindsey as well as visits to new musicals such as "Over Here" and possibly "Lord of the Rings" whilst restaurant tables have been booked at St Alban and the Ivy as well as discounted meals at some terrific value bistros.

For people who enjoy glamourous events, LTRC have a table at the 2007 Critic Circles Film Awards at the Dorchester and well as an evening with Alan Rickman and a number of secret film premieres.

Club members will also be watching the likes of Genesis and other jazz, pop, rock, soul and funk acts over the next twelve months at a variety of venues.

There are also special Dine & Socialise meals where people move around the table to chat to each other which will be organised to co-incide with events such as Burns Night, St Patricks Day, Thanksgiving and other special meal events.

LTRC's January 2007 schedule has been completed and can be viewed by visiting the following link http://www.ltrc.co.uk/schedule/jan_2007.pdf - and this is just one month.
