Hey,

Things haven't been working well at home for the past few months, arguing badly with the parents. A really bad argument happened and enough is enough and I need to get out.

I'm looking to move down to London meaning as it's a very big city and that it can offer me alot more opportunities than any other city really.

I'll be moving with nothing basically, nowhere to live and hardly any money.

Was just wandering if anyone can give me any advice.

Much appreciated.

First things first, are you 100% sure about this? Can't you speak to your parents? And London is awfully a massive place so you have to be careful.

Agree completely.

London is the last place to be if you're skint and desperate. There are thousands of homeless people who walk the streets who've slipped through the net and find it impossible to get help, and I'll bet a fair few of them will have started out leaving home with a similar story and were too proud to return.

I'd try everything you can think of to resolve the problems you have at home, if you can't do you have friends/family you can go to?

Hope that helps,
Mogwai

Here here... I wouldn't know where to start in trying to offer advice if you were to come here. There's no-where affordable if you don't have a job or any money. PLEASE think again and try to sort something out at home.

Good luck!!

I agree with the others.

Please think carefully before you do anything.

London is a big scarey place to be all alone esp if you have no money, no where to live & no friends.

Hello Carly

As everyone has mentioned, London is a big place and is very diverse.

It would be good to know where you are originally from, what you do for a living and the kind of things you like to do to help decide where you want to live in London.

This will help because there are diferent areas of London that provide different things.

For example, if you work in the banking industry then it is always good to have easy access to the Docklands area in London but if you don't mind working in a warehouse type industry then being in North West London is the ideal area for you.

South London is very diverse and West London is completely different again.

Let us have a few details about what you want to do with your life and then we can help you a bit more

Put simply, you cannot move to London with no money or job.

Rent is high, and you will end up on the streets.

Work things out at home, if you must move out wait until you have a job so you can afford to live alone and can afford a deposit etc. on a place to live.

The only affordable housing in London for single people who do not qualify for statutory social housing and who cannot afford private sector rents.

Do your research on what it takes to be a member of a co-op and what short-life is.

" There are currently 25 members of the Short Life Forum in London and Brent Community Housing Association is one of the largest, with 330 short-life tenancies."
