She walked around stage a lot in hot-pants, not singing. I could do that. In fact, probably have done at some point. If she doesn't want to sing on stage that's up to her I s'pose. But the bit that really got me was the reaction to her by the judges: they were all stood on their feet applauding. What?! There are kids in the X Factor, with no experience, on that stage singing live in front of 10 million people and dancing a routine that they've only had 3 days to learn... and for this effort the judges only manage to issue a terse little comment or two "well you didn't light my fire tonight..." ... but yet Britney, who makes a fair bit of money from "music," gets a dandy reception without singing a single note. I thought Simon Cowell was made of tougher stuff.
