Moving to London, need a little help tho!

Hi, I have come to the end of my tenancy here up north, no work here whatsoever, and I am homeless, so I wanted to go down to London and brave the hostels for a while until I get some solid work. Problem is I have no local connection, so I wouldn't be given any service unless I rough sleep and am found to be rough sleeping. So I was wondering if anybody would be able to pretend they know me, all I have to say is I'm a friend of yours, and that I've stayed at your address for a few days, would never need to meet you or anything like that.
