I have been a member of VMBS for few years now, and I can honestly say that I have never encountered any problems with my accounts and or transactions. The staff @ the VMBS Tottenham North London branch are always helpful, and explains certain process for easy understanding.

Just today, I had issues with my online banking, I called customer Service and they sorted me out straight away. I do agree that there needs to be some improvements in general, and get the feeling that in time it will be all sorted, but overall, I am, and have been satisfied with the service I receive from VMBS.

I will continue to Bank with this Building Society, and hope that other Members will exercise a little more patience, while at the same time, hoping that the Institution will look at these issues raised online, make the necessary improvements/changes for sustained growth of our Building Society.

I would recommend VMBS as a trusting Building society.

PERSONS BEWARE - unless you want stress and the burden of having to deal with time-wasting and incompetence, then have nothing to do with this institution.

They wanted us to jump through ever-increasing - and costly - hoops to close an account (it isn't free or cheap to get verification letters from a GP or JP, etc), and the same is required for multiple account holders.

The sooner we are shot of this lot, the better!

If you are returning to Jamaica think long and hard about using this financial institute. If you think they are poor in the UK in Jamaica they are even worse.
They have odd money limits, never respond to emails , never answer the phone and appear suspicious of everyone. They are run on practices from Victorian times and appear unable or unwilling to modernise. NCB and JN are marginally, and that is a very small margin, better.
Use a newer bank in Jamaica. They also have some peculiarities but at least they appear to be relatively modern.
If you do go into a VMBS branch in Jamaica remember to take a book , sandwiches and a drink as you could be there for hours. Even if the line is short they appear to move slower as the lines grow longer. Very odd

Another Jamaican institution run by Muppets. The illiteracy of the safe in Brixton is astounding. I would never recommend anyone to used them. Avoid them at all cost. JN, NCB, and VMBS are exactly the same. Over £3000 in Jn but they cant find my account. NCB takes 2 mounts to issue me a cheque of an account they made dormant (£4500). They charge me £16. for the cheque. With over £100k in VMBS and they secretly put my money in fixed deposit that I didn't ask for. I waited three months for my money. The excuse was a silly apology they they have internal problems. I must say however there were two staff at VMBS Brixton that seems to know about banking and finance. I bet they wont say for too long.

Update your website. And inform customers when your shop is closed for refurbishment etc...Visited your branch on September 12th 2019, and it was closed. Customers travel far to visit being as you are the only branch in South London...that, I find ridiculous.

Its about time Victorial Mutual Bank got with the times. Imagine My mother was visitng England and wished to make a withdrawal from her account, she had to wait TEN days. Why did my mother have to wait TEN days because her account is held in Jamaica and they had to contact her branch. Once the TEN days were up she would then receive the amount by cheque and not cash.

Now you tell me what kind of nonsense is this. I have advised my mother to close her account with Victoria Mutual and open a more update with the times bank account.

VMBS has been established for countless years, isn't it time you developed a user friendly, presentable and more informative website. There are many questions I'd like answered, visited your website and found it so empty. Please think about US, without whom there'd be no VMBS.
Have your say
