Le Gia is a new and exciting Vietnamese restaurant opened in the heart of Deptford. A classy, friendly, modern design but with very affordable, freshly made Vietnamese cuisines.

We also have 2 karaoke rooms that are fully furnished to the highest degree and are sound proofed, so any amateur singers can sing out their heart to a number of variating songs in English, Cantonese, Mandarin and, of course, Vietnamese.

Former bank on a corner site in Deptford Broadway - was briefly a smartly fitted out cocktail bar, now it's a budget Vietnamese restaurant. No frills - paper tablecloths and basic tables and chairs - but the food is really authentic and served by pleasant and helpful young staff. Vietnamese salad with beef jerky and grilled pork buns made excellent starters and there was real chicken stock in the pho. Vermicelli parcels with grilled pork were pretty successful too. The only pity was that on a Saturday evening the place was virtually empty - it deserves better than this. A shorter (and easier to read!) menu could help, as could a bit more effort to improve the atmosphere. But with these prices and this quality we'll be back for sure.

I have been to many Vietnamese restaurants in London and i got to admit this is pretty good. The food is pretty authentic in my opinion. It reminds me of a restaurant that i always go to in HCMC. Its better than going to Hackey where most of the Vietnamese restaurants are. The only thing I have against it is that it doesnt serve Banh Xeo and Banh Cuon. The Pho is moderate. For these three dishes i would still go to Cafe Mama Pho on Evelyn Street. Nevertheless you will not be disappointed with Le Gia, it is worth travelling to this place.

Best Vietnamese food this side of Hanoi and well worth travelling to Deptford for!!
Don't be put off by the karaoke - I'm local and have eaten there countless times and had no idea it went on...
If you've visited Vietnam and missed the fact that Vietnamese food is really hard to find in this country then this is the place for you! It doesn't serve Anglicized Chinese food like so many so-called Vietnamese restaurants and everything is delicious and imaginative. I've been there lots of times and am still only part way through sampling everything on their wonderful menu.
The staff are just delightful and friendly, courteously pointing out which sauce gets mixed with which etc. and happy to chat if you like to. They deserve to do well so get yourself down to Deptford Broadway and get ordering! And try some Vietnamese beer while you are there!

I have been here quite a few times and having heard that it's only been open for a month, i must say, it was actually quite good. The only gripe I did have was that the background music was playing abit too loud for my liking, but thats a personal opinion and might not affect everyone, although i did like the authentic Vietnamese music; it helped create the ambience. I also liked the lighting (I like purple :P). The food was excellent, albeit slightly larger-than-usual portion (which I'm not complaining about, btw). Overall, a great example of a Vietnamese restaurant and a excellent place to go if you haven't tasted Vietnamese food yet (shame on you :P)

I'm planning to host my birthday here cause I found out that they also do Karaoke rooms here (!!)
Have your say
