I'm a regular cyclist, I live right next to the shop. I cycle past each day, purchased a tube few times...
I can fully agree with the reviews. The staff being rude and the service being completely unprofessional. Every single review I've read is the complete truth, I witness it on a daily basis when cycling past or just hanging around...
If the business wants to damage it's reputation beyond repair. Then they should just continue with what their doing.
If the business wants to succeed, drastic changes are required.

I can't believe I was silly enough to come here. I totally agree with all the comments below, the prices are very high (higher than other major established bike shop chains with better service) for what you are actually receiving. Staff could do with an attitude adjustment too.

Very high prices, very rude staff, and the quality of service can be improved significantly. Not just a one off, I've been here a few times before and no matter who it is, they behave in the same way, if you look like a novice in terms of bicycles they will try to rip you off or imply you're cheap if you don't agree with their silly prices.

This place is awful. Ridiculous prices for terrible service, £18 for an inner tube change? If you can change it yourself you can get an inner tube online for pennies. So it's £18 for 5 minutes labour? Also my bike seems to come back in worse condition after they've touched it, my gears are ruined and my chain keeps clicking... Not only is this a scam to try and get you to come back and part with more of your money... It's also very dangerous. Furthermore their staff take a horribly condescending attitude towards customers and chat about films from the 80s that no one cares about

agree with the other reviews, rude staff, awful after sales service, no regard for customers at all. They need customer service training. Doubt that they read customer comments but would help if they did take on board that it's the customer that keeps them in business.

I have heard only good reviews from those I have recommended to Fudges bike shop which is good to hear. Will be going back for next purchase. An off roader.

I was introduced to Fudges cycles by a family friend who highly recommended them having bought bikes there for all their family members. I have not been disappointed. Great service, friendly, knowledgable, non patronising and definitely not chasing a sale in fact the guy i was dealing with was trying to help me get the best deal although their prices were already competitive. I wonder if some of these reviews are genuine!!? The 2 bike services I have had since the purchase have been absolutely fine no problems at all and can't complain. Will definitely use again and recommend to others looking for good personal service and fair prices. Good to know its a family run business who have certainly showed some good old fashioned values.

Hi, I live close buy. It's one of those shops that only want your money and you soon feel rejected if you are price concious and need to cost before you consider buying. They are unfriendly verging on surly, contemptuous and challenging. I baulk at approaching them and I'm a big hairy mechanically capable bloke. I am also English but not in that way. I prefer the net.

I wish I read those reviews before I went and bought my bike there.
Before they took my money they were very friendly and helpful. Even when I came for my first “free” service they seemed helpful.
Then it started spiralling downwards. The bike came back from the service a lot worst, screws over tightened so much that treads were damaged, chain making so much noise, derailleur not working properly....???£££###
When I took it back they blamed everything on me and treated me like an idiot. They even tried to accuse me for over tightening screws after I picked up the bike???
I took the bike to another local shop (...... muuuch better service) and had it all repaired there – the bike is perfect since then and I was warned which threads were messed up by Fudges and to take extra care. When I told them of my mayhem they just told me that Fudges are well known for a bad bike service. I am so, soooo angry now that I am stuck with that bunch as my 3 years warrantee ss with them and if anything goes wrong I can only take the bike there.
IF YOU WANT A PEACE OF MIND – GO ELSEWHERE AND BUY/SERVICE YOUR BIKE.

Terrible patronising service. And don't give a damn after you've bought a bike off them. Unless you are a pretty girl they will give you the worst after care. Went to pump air... problems using outside pump. This guy with bad teeth gave so much attitude and refused to use gas. (when he had done so for a girl a few days earlier). Patronisingly told me to use the outside one, and when I complained to manager, he went outside to show me how crap I was. Turned out something wrong with the pump!
Bought 2 bikes there. Never again. Terrible after service.

Excellent online selection of bikes at very good prices. Only bought one bike so far. Used Fudges because the bike was at a price 25% lower than anywhere else on the web and was very pleased at the quick delivery and good telephone customer service.
