We have been to Thai Metro on many occasions and as a group choose to go back there over and over again.

The food chosen varies and each time the meals have been of a fair standard and value for money.
Only one area that is suggested in a group they should allow more time for the meals. They give you about an hour and a half only.

Me and my parter absolutely love this place and go very often. It's perfectly located, the meals are always fantastic and extremely good value for money. We've been to Thai Metro on our own and with friends plenty of times, and they've all loved it - pad thai and other dishes. The only thing I'd say is that you should be careful when telling them to make things spicy - they can sometimes be on the 'Thai spicy', rather than 'European spicy' side which you'll regret for days to come! But otherwise can't fault it :)

I would highly recommend this quaint little restaurant.
They do one of the best vegetarian (tofu) pad thais I have come across. The vegetable spring rolls and thai fish cakes are also delicious. The service was also impecable, very fast and super polite staff. Reasonably priced aswell, I will most definitly be returning here.

If you are looking for a quick alternative lunch, this place is a great find! The food is fresh, tasty and delicious. Service is very prompt. The place can get a bit cramped during luch hour as the tables are a bit close. Don't let this put you off'cos the best part was the bill...cheap, especiallyfor this area! Every penny helps, so you can still have a Thai without the hefty bill at the end. Will definately be a regular.

Restaurant very busy. Good sign. One waiter covering all of downstairs. Bad sign. Had spring rolls to start with and steamed dumplings. The spring rolls were bland and the oil was old and reaked of fish. The dumplings, although I'm pretty sure they weren't freshly steamed, were actually the highlight of the meal and were good. Nice texture and flavour.

Mains were not good. Thai for me - and I had a Thai girlfriend and have been to Thailand many times - is about fresh strong flavours simply cooked. The chicken yellow curry was overly rich thick and sickly sweet. And padded out with lots of halved new potato. The plain rice was overcooked. The rice noodles with duck were pretty terrible. It was also fun trying to actually find the animal in the sticky brown mess that was presented to me. The only real flavour was oyster sauce and lots and lots of it.

All in all a bad meal costing £30 for two. I could definately produce better food myself and if I feel that about any restaurant, then for me it defeats the point of going. Maybe that's just me.

The waiter did his best though and was sweet. Overall, not recommended.

Had to eat here the other day as my normal Thai in the area is shut for holidays. Place looks nice, staff friendly but the food. AWFUL. I ordered my starters, satay and thai fish cakes, and they arrived within 2 mins. They had been microwaved! The satay stick was cold, whereas the chicken was hot. The thai fish cakes could have been used for squash balls. And the flavour was terrible. I did point this out to them but they denied that they microwaved it. (Did not charge me for it though) Main course not alot better. Well the sauces were OK, but the meat was tough especially the beef and the chicken had been covered in flour before cooking. Will not eat here again.

We booked for lunch time in a big group - I would advise you ask NOT to sit downstairs as it was loud and claustrophobic. We chose the 2 course £7.50 menu. Value is not bad for the area; but not comparable to the good noodle places around Leicester Sq. The tempura starter was too greasy; I then had a chicken noodle dish. It was OK, but had been bulked up with cheap, grotty veg (onion, cauliflower). The service was quick and friendly; but they did start clearing dishes while people at the other end were still eating! Definitely not recommended for starters and noodles - the curries were slightly better.
