The Olympic Park in London sporting complex in Stratford (East London) was built specifically for the 2012 Olympic Games. However, even after the games, the site is being hailed as part of the Olympic legacy, bringing sporting, cultural and music events, opportunities and experiences to East London.

Following its role as the focal point of the 2012 Olympic Games, the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park is now a focal point of East London's regeneration; 7,000 new homes have already been built on the site with many more in planning and development, a whole host of the sporting venues have been handed back over to the public and commercial and cultural venues are springing up in quick succession.

From its transformation due to be completed in 2016, the Olympic Stadium will be the new home of West Ham United FC and the National Competition Centre for athletics in the UK, as well as a major live music venue to rival the best in the world. Alongside this, the Copperbox arena, Aquatics Centre, Velodrome and BMX Circuit and the Hockey and Tennis Centre are all already in use and have been designed and placed so that they are easily accessible for all visitors via the extensive network of footbridges and walkways which run through the complex.
