Why are they closed on a Saturday?
On website says open on Saturdays.
Us full time NHS workers can only go on Saturdays....
I went from Waterloo to Tooting Bec especially to find them closed... very disappointing.

I checked the website for its opening hours, and saw that it was open until 4:45pm. I arrived there well before that time to be told by a member of staff that the store was closed, and that the hours were for pick up or collection. The website did not state this. I'm very disappointed. I don't think I visit again. If the prices were not high, the staff be more helpful, and information about the store be kept up to date, I may reconsider visiting.

All sorts of fabric, trimming and sewing equipment. Cake making section and hire of tins etc and crafting.
The staff have always been helpful to me and I hear them giving advice and detailed sewing ideas when required!
I have also been in when there were some very rude customers, who have an agenda. They were still served in a polite manner.
Can’t recommend it to much.

I have lived in South West London for a number of years and have visited the shop a few times for various bits and pieces. On all bar one occasion staff have been very unhelpful, even when I have directly asked for advice, and appear to be quite snooty upon realising I am a beginner. The only time I have dealt with anyone pleasant and professional was in the department upstairs. It is such a great shame that they are not encouraging and supporting beginners and younger generations to get the best out of sewing and craft.

I have lived in the area for 20 odd years and have been visiting this store since. Never have I had a complaint or a problem that they didn't try to solve. The store is a menagerie of fabrics and crafts, the staff enjoy their work and it shows. A wonderful place for any sewing or craft enthusiasts. I will be continuing to visit this store even if I move out of the area :)

This is a wonderful shop. They have beautiful fabrics and any craft accessory you can think of. Every time I go there the staff takes time to help me find what I need, always gives me great suggestions and always finds exactly what I am looking for! And more than once they helped me by suggesting solutions to problems I had with my sewing. They are simply amazing, very helpful and always polite. I like this shop so much, I never mind having to take two tube trains to get there when I have closer shops I could visit!
If you have never been, I suggest a visit!
Thumbs up!

After reading the reviews on this website I could not wait to visit the store. After visiting I was very disappointed. The staff was unhelpful, unprofessional, and did not know much about there products. Definitely not what I was expecting.

Could improve by teaching staff members to be more helpful.

Fantastic Store! I go all the time and Recently the store has been updated with a whole new floor to venture round, more staff and more bits and bobs to pick up that i always find hard to find in most stores. staff are so friendly you simply don't want to leave. The fabric range in the store and pricing is so good it has become my main source when ever i decide im making something new.I only wish that they were open a little later so i could swing in after work.
Certainly recommend it to anyone!

They have so many craft types, from dressmaking to curtains and upholstery, knitting and crochet to jewellery making, card making to general mending. It was my first time going today, having come from North West London and I must say I will most definitely come again! I was served by a young girl Sarah and she was absolutely amazing and incredibly knowledgeable with excellent customer service and actually knows the products on for sale. Will definitely come in for her on a Saturday! It was so worth it- come in early though because its like Aladdin's cave and you'll lose track of time!!

Fantastic shop FANTASTIC selection of fabrics my fav shop ever, I really don't know what Diana the previous review is talking about,I am an experienced dressmaker / designer and have been shopping for years at this shop , they have the biggest selection of fabrics I have ever seen ,from basic cottons to chiffons, statins ,velvets dress fabrics ,jerseys the list is endless,I have as much fabric in my studio as the shop all from here, sometimes you need to take time to look as I have found hidden gems under other fabrics, the staff are so helpfull and always go the extra mile ,the other week

I've been coming here for a number of years and they have got some nice fabrics, but I think they need to change whomever is in charge of buying the fabric because his/her taste is poor and he/she cannot be a sewer either if picking that type of fabric. If not done already, they need to ask the opinion of the many dressmakers they have working in the shop, look at up coming trends in order to buy in and have the stock as soon as the trend comes to light (ie not order studs and spikes 1.5years after the trend began). Get your younger staff to make pieces for the shop- let them inspire!!

I've been coming here for just over 3 years and I'd rather come in on its busiest day (Saturday) because the customer service is through the roof. I find that most of the staff (around tills) during the week are very slow and at times quite smug. But the Saturday staff are amazing! There are three usual ladies on tills (Linda, Jill and Zara) with the very young girl being incredibly knowledgeable- its a shame they don't work full time! They are always polite and do always help any way they can and not to mention fast at the cashier. I'd say, if its your first time, go only on Saturdays!!

I don't know why there are bad reviews about the staff, they are great! I guess it depends on the person so if you come across as rude they may not want to help as much but the ladies helping me with fabric were brilliant! Have their own advice and chatted about how we all got into sewing. There's a brilliant selection so this is a must go place for anybody and everybody. I spent way more than I planned to and I live in Dagenham so it's not exactly around the corner. I will definatly be coming back on the next payday!

What friendly and helpful staff! Thank you Beverly and Mark We found exactly what wanted for upholstering our chairs. Customer service gets 10/10. The staff were not as knowledgeable on the properties of all materials; whether they were upholstery and what the rub test may be.

I love this store! It is the only one like it that I know of in London and it's just up the road from me so great! The staff used to be a bit unhelpful but this seems to have improved in the last year or so. I love that this is the only shop that closes on Sunday and bank holidays which makes it all the more special, particularly for Tooting - I'm old school and shops should close on these days (I remember half-day opening on Wednesday!). My one concern might be the prices which causes people to shop on-line, but so much better to be able to browse! Keep up the good work guys.

Not sure where the bad reviews about staff are coming from. All very helpful and friendly - especially Lauren. Spent way too money in here and could keep on spending! I love this place! I'll be coming back soon - thanks :-)

This shop could be so good.
They have a huge range of craft materials here but the service is appalling. I have been about 4 times and everytime I get treated really badly. I've made the mistake about asking advice for wool before but won't go there again!

Please please please improve your customer service!!

This could be such a great shop. There is quite a lot of different stuff; jewellery making, cake decorating, ribbons and materials, knitting and general sewing things. In some areas stock is dated or unimaginative or the ranges are poor. Doesn't follow seasons and holidays very well.

The biggest issue is staff and service - sneery and impatient. If you're new to a craft or unsure about what you want, avoid this place. I have the feeling they have the knowledge but get a kick out of not sharing it. And avoid going near closing time, they are very militant then.

The staff was quite rude and the shelves were half empty, only a few felt sheets and a little selection of jewellery items. But the most annoying thing is still the rudeness of the staff. It was my first and last time there.

This place has everything, love it! I've come here for everything from Rufflette to stamens for my sugar flowers. The only down side was that they didn't have any stamens left... But I did still manage to get wire and tiny beads to make my own! Highly recommended :D

It has a good selection of products but being a black guy whenever I've visited, a panic alarm or something is pressed as I'm followed around by a big burly bloke from a back room. Not for non white shoppers.
