Floridita bar, restaurant and live performance venue, celebrates its iconic Soho heritage this summer by offering a unique evening package incorporating an insightful ‘soundbite’ tour of the local area, followed by dinner and a live show (£35 pp).

Partnering with Coutours bespoke tour company, they have created a tailor-made route to unravel the fascinating local history, taking in the rich music and food culture of the area through past and present.

Floridita stands on the original site of the famous Marquee Club where many famous names cut their teeth on the way to global music fame, including U2, The Who and Led Zeppelin. This year Floridita is celebrating its 50th Anniversary of the first Rolling Stones gig there in 1962.

Experienced guide and Coutours Founder, Emma Parker, will meet guests at Floridita’s bar before sharing a bite size tour of Soho, which highlights its history as a magnet for emigres from all over Europe (shown in the street names: Greek Street, Ingestre Street, as well as famous artists, authors, composers, philosophers and musicians (from Mozart to Bowie and beyond!).

The tour will explain the avant-garde sexual history of Soho, the food and drink culture and the area’s role in shaping the London music scene, from the music halls and Jazz clubs of the 30's and 40’s, Beatnik clubs of the 50's through to the legendary clubs that put Soho on the map, including the Marquee Club.

With memorable anecdotes and quirky facts, this urban exploration is designed to appeal to everyone from London visitors to Soho residents who want to know more about their local area.

The hour-long tour will finish at Floridita, where guests will be seated to a cocktail and delicious two course meal of cosmopolitan Latin American and Cuban cuisine created by acclaimed Head Chef Richard Sawyer, while watching the live show.

Floridita offers an exciting array of live entertainment throughout the week, showcasing at least two great bands every night, as well as the spectacular Cabaret Floridita every Wednesday evening, and is open until the early hours of the morning.

Inspired by the 1930s style of the legendary El Floridita, Floridita combines old world glamour and decadence of a by-gone era, with the cutting edge raw talent of today.
