The guy in the repair centre upstairs is a legend! He was very helpful with a product I had not bought in store.

Bought an Iomega ScreenPlay HD video player. Some movies worked, some with no sound - all with identical codecs.
These guys are fine when you are buying (very nice, in fact). But try and return something and it's another story. Firstly, they insist on reviewing a returned item (in some cases sending back to the manufacturer) and, after going through their own check-list of criteria (power-supply work? Unit switches on? etc.) will only return or refund if the product is faulty by their own terms. It doesn't matter that you're left with a product that doesn't work properly.
In my case, about half of my movies are unplayable (even the product advertising reports to play them). But Micro anvika, in their wisdom, see that "some" of the movies work and therefore, the unit is not faulty.
So, I'm stuck with it - no help, no exchange, nothing. I'm not sure what the legal position is, but at most stores, if you're not happy with a product (normally for any reason, not least that it doesn't work), they will refund or return it. Not here.
So, my advice is: Do not buy here, find somewhere else. It's not cheap and the service is poor so why bother?
