The Ritz Restaurant is due to open its terrace for the summer season. This year The Ritz London is launching The Garden Bar, Champagne Terrace, serving Champagne, cigars and canapés by Executive Chef John Williams MBE. The Garden Bar, Champagne Terrace will offer the perfect setting for a summer afternoon or evening, with a chance to enjoy a glass of some of the finest champagnes whilst watching the sun set across Green Park.

The Garden Bar Champagne Terrace menu will change frequently and will offer a selection of light seasonal canapés, cornets of smoked salmon muscovite and a range of British cheeses. The menu will also offer a choice of cigars, namely Partagas, Montecristo and Cohiba and Laurent-Perrier, Bollinger, Dom Pérignon, Krug Grande Cuvée and Ritz Selection Champagnes and will be open from Monday to Sunday between 3pm and 7pm.

The menu of The Ritz Restaurant features classic French dishes created using the finest British seasonal ingredients, offering diners a selection of cuisine perfect for a splendid al fresco lunch (available Monday to Sunday, 12.30-2pm). Guests can select the fresh flavours and subtle textures of butter poached lobster with spiced carrot purée and lemon verbena, warm English asparagus with gulls eggs and morels or roast turbot, citrus and shellfish jus. Even the delicate desserts suit the season with a selection that includes: fraisier with pistachio and vanilla white chocolate and Champagne and citrus mousseline with elderflower and raspberry.

The secluded terrace features a beautiful Italian mosaic floor surrounded by ornate wrought iron balustrades adorned with vibrant floral boxes. With tables draped in crisp white linen, topped with gleaming silverware and sheltered by vast parasols, The Garden Bar, Champagne Terrace is a stylish and sophisticated sanctuary amidst the clamour in central London.

The Ritz Restaurant is considered by many to be the most beautiful hotel restaurant in the world. The vast floor to ceiling windows, the rich and varied use of soft pink, pale green and veined white marble, and the dazzling garlands of chandeliers reflected in the wall of panelled mirror, combine to create one of the most spectacular interiors in London, as charming by day as by night. The west facing windows overlook The Terrace and Green Park and during the day, the sunshine enhances the interior brightness while in the low evening light, the circle of chandeliers and table candelabras create a magical reflection in the mirrors.

Executive Chef John Williams MBE has been at the helm of the hotel’s dining service for almost 10 years and he has made it his mission to ensure The Ritz hallmark of excellence is delivered with every meal. This philosophy has never been more apparent than in The Ritz Restaurant with its rich culture of Escoffier-inspired food and service, its selection of menus featuring great classical dishes alongside British specialities and its strong focus on seasonality.

The Ritz Restaurant offers impeccable service that is overseen by Simon Girling (Executive Food and Beverage Operations Manager), perfectly executed by waiters - in their signature tail coats, like a beautifully choreographed ballet. The legendary wine list is overseen by Head Sommelier, Tobias Brauweiler, who came in the top six of the UK Sommelier of the Year Competition 2012.
