'A Puffin Book' summer exhibition

To celebrate Puffin's beloved children's books, Waterstones Piccadilly are hosting a free exhibition giving readers an unique opportunity to see first editions, original letters and artwork from much-loved children’s authors such as Mary Norton and Michelle Magorian.

Quentin Blake: Inside Stories

This landmark show by Quentin Blake, one of the UK’s most important and best-loved illustrators, gives a unique insight into the origins of some of Blake’s most characteristic and popular creations, from his illustrations to Roald Dahl's The Twits and Danny the Champion of the World to his own Clown and The Boy in The Dress by David Walliams.

Battersea Dogs & Cats Home Annual Reunion
7 Sept
On Sunday, 7th September 2014, thousands of people and their four legged friends will descend on Battersea Park to take part in our Annual Reunion. Dogs can take part in games such as temptation alley and our canine tombola and there will be plenty of games for children to take part in. This is a wonderful day out in London for all of the family.

The Mayor's Thames Festival
1 - 30 Sept
With a mixture of live music, dance, carnival, river races, beach-combing, fast boats, bonfires and street arts, this festival transforms the Thames and its banks and has plenty to keep the kids entertained.

Tall Ships Festival
5 - 9 Sept
Around 50 ships will gather in Royal Greenwich for five days of festivities, the largest Tall Ship event in 25 years. Giant illuminated fish, marching bands and music is sure to keep the interest of your little ones.

Wild Sleepover
9 - 10 Aug
Go wild and camp out in the park! There will be an afternoon of nature activities, a nightwalk and stories around the campfire.
