The Queen's Birthday Gun Salute
<21 April/i>
The Queen usually spends her actual birthday privately, but the occasion is marked publicly by gun salutes in central London at midday: a 41 gun salute in Hyde Park, a 21 gun salute in Windsor Great Park and a 62 gun salute at the Tower of London.



Canalway Cavalcade
30 April - 2 May
This waterways boaters' gathering has been taking place at Little Venice since 1983. As well as boating activities there is plenty of other things going on.


The Tweed Run
14 May
The 8th annual Tweed Run sees sharply dressed individuals in plus-fours, Harris Tweed jackets and bow ties saunter on two wheels alongside stylishly shod cyclists sporting Merino wool team jerseys, silk cravats and flat caps. From penny- farthings to customised vintage two-wheelers and contemporary pedal-powered contraptions, the event encompasses a diverse range of participants, with stylishness being the common trait for all.


Regent's Park Open Air Theatre
13 May - 17 Sept
A firm fixture of summer in the city, the Regent's Open Air Theatre this year hosts Jesus Christ Superstar, Pride and Prejudice, Henry V and Running Wild.
