Last week The Sun newspaper revealed that Jeremy Paxman was earning £240,000 salary from the University Challenge program that the has been presenting for several years. Jeremy also earns a cool £800,000 for presenting Newsnight for the BBC. In total, the BBC presenter earns over £1,000,000 a year.
Some other individuals are not doing badly out of the BBC either with Barbara Windsor who plays Peggy Mitchell in Eastenders earns an impressive £360,000, which isn’t bad for a part-timer!
On the radio side of things, Radio 1 DJ Chris Moyles is the highest paid at £630,000. Chris has seen considerable success over the recent years since he took over the breakfast show. Since his arrival on the show, listening figures have grown considerably.
These figures, which were considered highly confidential were leaked from an inside source. The BBC is investigating the source of the leak.
