On the back of a fantastic year which includes scooping the top spot at the UK National Restaurant Awards for a second consecutive year as well as getting the “highest climber” accolade, at number 14, in the World’s 50 Best Restaurants List, The Ledbury confirms it’s position as London’s ruling eatery by topping our All In One: Ultimate Restaurant List, 2012.
The list of London’s Top 100 restaurants was launched last year with the aim of unifying and normalising the myriad of dining awards and ratings into one easy to digest, definitive index. In short, the All In London development team has formulated a mathematical algorithm which weights and assesses the various local, national and global awards, ratings and industry momentum to rank restaurants based on their standing over the preceeding 12 months.
When presented with the award, Head Chef Brett Graham commented: “We are delighted to be accepting this award. It has been a great year for the Ledbury team so far and we will continue to work hard and focus on having happy customers in the restaurant and living up to their high expectations!”
When asked what goes into making such a successful restaurant the Australian explained, “We continue to focus on the customer, ensuring they have the best possible time here. We have a strong team who are all passionate about what they do. The menu is constantly being developed, focusing on seasonal produce and British ingredients.”
“We are a neighbourhood restaurant and are lucky to have lots of regulars so to constantly change and develop the menu is essential as we want to give people something new if they come in for the second time that week!”
The two Michelin-starred restaurant opened in Notting Hill in 2005, with Brett as Head Chef, supported by a young, energetic team including Sous Chef Greg Austin, and long-standing Restaurant Manager Stephen Quinn who say that “Together we have a great team and will continue to work hard to make The Ledbury better and better.”
Last year’s Ultimate Restaurant List top spot was claimed by Marcus Wareing at The Berkeley who ranks just one place lower this year at number two, and although new to the capital’s dining scene over the past twelve months, Dinner by Heston Blumenthal made the List’s number three position.
