On 1 May 30 people will be offering free hugs to people in Covent Garden and the South Bank.
Organisers said the morning event would aim to provide the "perfect antidote" to all those suffering with "election fatigue".
Random Huggers Day founder Mayella Johnstone said their intention was to provide some "warmth, love and fun".
"Amid the political rhetoric today there will be groups of people offering a moment of peaceful sanity in London," she added:
"Although some people are reticent to be hugged at first, they soon get the idea and find it really refreshing."
Launched in 2004, 29 huggers gave away 3,000 hugs in three hours on the streets of London on the first Random Huggers Day .
