About Bethnal Green
Traditionally, Bethnal Green has been one of the poorest areas of London and is characterised by large houses that are in a poor state of repair which serve as homes to multiple families. The famous Jack the Ripper was also known to be operating in the western part of Bethnal Green for some years. In the early 1900s, the Boundary Estate was opened in Bethnal Green, the first council estate in the world.
Today, Bethnal Green is better known for being the location in which the many of the Lou and Andy sketches from Little Britain are filmed!
