Esher is the epitome of middle class suburbia, as parodied on more than one occasion by Monty Python. It’s a highly desirable area for affluent families thanks to the proliferation of green spaces and the reputation of the local schools; the famous racecourse is located nearby and the high street boasts several upmarket boutiques. Unsurprisingly there are numerous multi-million pound homes and the area surrounding Esher train station in particular is on the up. The borough of Elmbridge, where this Surrey district is situated, supposedly offers the best quality of life in the whole of the UK, with inhabitants reportedly living longer than anywhere else in the country.
