Harringay

Your All In London guide to Harringay

The district known as Harringay (not to be confused with the Borough names Haringey) surrounds the main thoroughfare of Green Lanes, a lively street home to many Turkish and Greek Cypriot shops due to the local population. While there is no tube in Harringay itself, it is bordered by Seven Sisters and Turnpike Lane, and there are numerous bus routes linking to other area, however Green Lanes can become heavily congested, particularly at rush hour. In contrast to its major road, the residential streets are leafy and quiet, with bay-fronted Victorian houses. Harringay was once known as a relaxing getaway for Londoners, thanks to attractions such as nearby Finsbury Park, Harringay Arena and Hornsey House.
